Polycom IP 6000 Config Help

Posted:Thu 09 of Oct, 2008 (19:12 UTC)
I am attempting to configure a new Polycom IP 6000 to work with our SIP enabled Toshiba Strata Com Server. We currently only have Aastra 9133i's configured as such:

[+]
  1. DHCP Setting
  2. ============

  1. Notes: To set a static IP address, you must first disable DHCP. If
  2. DHCP is disabled, you will also need to manually configure Subnet
  3. Mask, Gateway, DNS, and TFTP Server settings.

  1. DHCP:
  2. 0 = false, means DHCP is disabled.
  3. 1 = true, means DHCP is enabled.

  1. dhcp: 0 # DHCP disabled.

[+]
  1. Network Settings
  2. =============

  1. ip: # This value is unique to each phone on a server
  2. and should be set in the "<mac>.cfg” file if
  3. setting this manually.

[+]
  1. Line Settings
  2. =======

  1. Lines should be set in the <mac>.cfg file since these settings
  2. are unique to each phone.

  1. Notes: Setting parameters for lines 1 - 4 configures the 4
  2. line/call appearance hard keys on the 480i. Setting parameters
  3. for lines 5 - 9 configures the phone for additional line/call
  4. appearances that can be set up as softkeys.

  1. The maximum number of line/call appearances that can be
  2. configured on the 480i is 8 or 9, depending on how the lines
  3. have been configured.

  1. If all line/call appearances have been set up for the same
  2. number, a total of 9 lines can be configured. If all line/call
  3. appearances have been set up between two different numbers, a
  4. total of 8 lines can be configured. This means that when all
  5. line/call appearances are in use, 1 is connected while the rest
  6. are held. No further outgoing or incoming calls can be made until
  7. one of the line/call appearances becomes available.

  1. Explanation of Settings with Line 1 as Example
  2. ========================================

  1. This should match either TV User Account password OR
  2. it should match Authorization Password set on the TV SIP Span

  1. in the From header field of the outgoing

I am working with stock polycom config files, but am not certain where changes need to be made. Any help would be appreciated.
