My sister came across a Linksys RT41P2-AT Router/ATA made for the now discontinued AT&T service. I hacked it to connect to Asterisk (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,15196602) and it connects fine, but I've got a tricky networking problem because the ATA uses the external IP address and the Asterisk server is behind its NAT.
The ATA connects to Asterisk using the external IP address. When Asterisk (behind NAT, using externip and localnet) receives a call from outside (Vitelity), the call connects, uses Packet2Packet, but there is no audio on either end. My guess is that the problem is related to the ATA using an external IP address and intercepting? RTP traffic destined for Asterisk. Any ideas on how to make this work? --Randall
