First, make sure your chan_zap.so is loaded.
In the CLI, write "zap show channels".

If it complains about no such command, then it isn't loaded.

In the CLI, write "module load chan_zap.so"

If it won't load, please review your config.

Ubuntu + asterisk

Hello .

Trying to install zaptel + asterisk in ubuntu 8.10 server . I compilled zaptel current version from source and then install them on my ubuntu machine . I compilles asterisk from source and then install it on my ubuntu machine . When I try to call through ZAP channel to my PSTN leni I get this error mesage :
Nov 25 23:32:24] WARNING[8291] channel.c: No translator path exists for channel type ZAP (native 76) to 1
[Nov 25 23:32:24] WARNING[8291] app_dial.c: Unable to create channel of type 'ZAP' (cause 58 - Bearer capability not available)



Wha does this means .?

With the same dialplan in Slackware 11, asterisk 1.4.21 zaptel 1.4.5.1 I am able to dial through ZAP channel .

How can I fix this ?
