${REASON} variable and wiki editing

Posted:Fri 06 of Mar, 2009 (02:03 UTC)
Hello,

I am somewhat new with Asterisk, and brand new here in the forum. I got a real trouble trying to find a way to get the reason why some outgoing call failed when using Call Files. Found no clue in the wiki or googling around. The "failed" reason was not enough for what I had to do. I had to know if it was busy, congested or whatever.
Then I got that personal and decided to change asterisk code in order to do that. After some time reading the code (version 1.6.0.5), I discovered that that was already done, and a ${REASON} variable was set in the code with the specific reason why the call failed.
So, I updated some of the wiki pages (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Reason+variable , http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+variables , http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+Detailed+Variable+List and http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+auto-dial+out ).
I just used the 1.6.0.5 version, so I have no idea on what version this feature first showed. If someone sees something wrong or incomplete about what I edited there, please correct, it's my first time editing the wiki also.
And I hope that that will be useful for everyone, like it would be to me, sparing so much of my time. (I'm complaining but I have to confess: it was fun!)
