Fail2Ban: Problem with Installation

Posted:Sun 16 of May, 2010 (07:48 UTC)
The step by step instructions for installing Fail2Ban on your Web-page here
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Fail2Ban+%28with+iptables%29+And+Asterisk
seems to be outdated.

When proceeding as indicated, with the intention to use the messages-file and not the iptables, I arrive at

Turn on Fail2Ban
To start Fail2Ban type the following as root:
/etc/init.d/fail2ban start

There is however no such file in the folder /init.d/. It seems also that the file names have been changed. Under /usr/src/fail2ban/ there are various fail2ban-files, like fail2ban-client, fail2ban-regex, fail2ban-server etc.

Could may be someone here give some instructions on how to proceed to get it working? Thank you.
