Greetings alphacomputergroup,

I tried to register with the External SIP Server IP and also I couldn't register . . If you took a look at the configuration I pasted in my last reply , I tried to connect to your External Server using your sip username and password and also failed to register . . . I see you are not using NAT in your configuration . .

You are very welcomed if you want to work on this with me in real time ..

Try to register with the SIP lines I use in jy configuration and I'm waiting for your reply

here you are my email : eng_aai@hotmail.com

Please contact me, I really do appreciate your help.

Hello ahmaly,

are you connecting to your external asterisk servers with dns name or ip? I would recommend IP only as proxy.

I really feel this is either an internet provider issue or a router/port issue. I have a pbx that I only allow access by IP address. If you have time (and me as well) I would like to work with you on this in real-time and whitelist your ip to register to my pbx. In the mean time this is my working scenario. At my local location I am using a cisco asa 5505 (works great with asterisk). I created an object for the voip server and natted an extra wan IP to the voip server. I only allow access to my local pbx by IP only and then they have unrestricted access(no port forwarding - all ports). On my external location I have an asa 5520 which I have a local pbx object natted to an extra wan ip. This way only traffic that passes on either wan ip is for local asterisk only. I whitelisted my local and external ip's on both routers and because I have no restrictions I am able to register without a problem.

In the meantime I will try to register my phone with an actual sip provider not my own private asterisk server and will let you know the results. Thanks.

Greetings alphacomputergroup,

Thanks for your reply,

I tried your configuration with firmware 8.5.4S like you used but, Unfortunately the same problem exists, I cannot register with external servers . .

I used your external server and my local and external servers but only local server registered . .

I took a screen shot of the phone

Here you can see

Re: How to register Cisco 7962G with external SIP

Posted:Thu 16 of Oct, 2014 (22:19 UTC)
Hello ahmaly,

I don't have a 7962 but I do have a 7942. I am able to successfully register to my local asterisk pbx and my external asterisk pbx. Here is my configuration. I also used a different firmware as I couldn't get it to work using SIP42.8-5-3S, I used SIP42.8-5-4S instead. I really don't feel its the firmware. I changed firmware a SEPMAC file. This is my MAC file. I wish I could send you a screen shot of the screen of my phone to show you the registered sip extensions for both local and external. Try the config below. 192.168.6.10 - LOCALPBX 64.64.64.64 - EXTERNALPBX

Re: How to register Cisco 7962G with external SIP

IF your looking to hookup a cisco phone external to your pbx - first thing I would say is port forwarding enabled or did you allow full access by the external ip. Then when the phone gets served TFTP did you set the processnodename and the other parameter that escapes me that's under the siplines and entered the external wan ip of the elastix box? Let me know your configuration and im sure I can help. Thanks.

How to register Cisco 7962G with external SIP

Posted:Thu 02 of Oct, 2014 (09:26 UTC)
Greetings,

I would like to know if it is possible to register the 7962G with external voip providers like callwithus or voipfone or any external voip provider.

I'm able to register it with local SIP severs like Elastix using firmware verison 8.5.3 but cannot register with external voip !!!!

Please help

Best Regards
