Bjamin82,

For your 7970, you have dialTemplate line:
<dialTemplate>dialplan.xml</dialTemplate>
And I believe that you have a dialplan.xml file in your tftp server.
Now on your 7960 phone, is there a place to set the dialplan itself, or could you have a file on tftp and address that on your phone?

I am no familiar with call centric, but this is my dialplan.xml file that send all numbers to my asterisk server with a 3-second delay waiting for another digit:

<DIALTEMPLATE>
<TEMPLATE MATCH="*" Timeout="3"/>
</DIALTEMPLATE>

I hope this will help.

Okay after talking with some support people... The 7970 is not going to work with callcentric... So I acquired a 7960 which is supposed to be an easier configuration since you can configure via phone menu instead of XML... But I'm told I will need to update the dialplan... What's the best way to do this as well as does anyone have a sample file I can see that works with call centric?

Thanks

I tried the USECALLAMANAGER config before, saw on another forum here... no luck... here is my config... I XXXX out my username and password... one thing i thought was weird... if you look in the phone menu after the configuration is pushed, and view the SIP configuration for each line, the Proxy Port was always empty, even though it is properly configured in the xml file.

Re: Cisco 7970 IP Phone Configuration Help

bjamin82,

Did you see Asterisk+phone+cisco+7970+SIP
document in voip-info.org?

If it didn't work, try this:
First of all, make sure you put the right IP or hostname of your server in <processNodeName> tag:

<callManagerGroup>
<members>
<member priority="0">
<callManager>
<ports>
<ethernetPhonePort>2000</ethernetPhonePort>
<sipPort>5060</sipPort>
<securedSipPort>5061</securedSipPort>
</ports>
<processNodeName>X.X.X.X</processNodeName>
</callManager>
</member>
</members>
</callManagerGroup>

Then in <proxy> tag within line button, instead of IP or hostname, write USECALLMANAGER. It should be like this:

<sipLines>
<line button="1">
<featureID>9</featureID>
<featureLabel>blahblan</featureLabel>
<proxy>USECALLMANAGER</proxy>
<port>5060</port>
<name>blahblan</name>
...

Then reboot the phone and make sure it gets the configuration.

Also make sure nat configuration is correct. if you have <natEnabled>false</natEnabled> in your configuration, in your server nat has to be disabled as well.

If your problem is not soved, please post us your configuration.

Cisco 7970 IP Phone Configuration Help

Posted:Fri 15 of May, 2015 (21:49 UTC)
Any one here familiar with Cisco IP phones? I bought a 7970... I have refreshed it with SIP firmware and I am trying to configure it to connect with my call centric account and not having a lot of luck. I can post the XML configs if someone can help.

Thanks in Advance.
