RTP Multicast to Snom Phones
Re: RTP Multicast to Snom Phones
Yup that much i've done before ( setting the rtp ip:port in the multicast area and enabling it).... it's making the correct rtp stream that is the hard part....
I've tried vlc , cvlc... both windows and bsd...
According to some wikis, a PCM 8bit 8KHZ mono RTP incapsulated stream is what a snom will accept..
i've tried from Windows with
.\vlcportable.exe -vvv .\ysubm.wav --sout "#transcode{acodec=alaw,ab=64,scale=1,channels=1,ar=8000}:rtp{dst=224.168.168.168,port=34567}"
but that would be inpractiable as I would prefer it from the bsd box running the phone system so that I can control the output...

Re: RTP Multicast to Snom Phones
On the snom phones, you need to turn on the multicast support and also, have to setup the multicast ip and port. Check out snom's wiki for the detailed help - http://wiki.snom.com/Web_Interface/V7/Advanced#Multicast
