Newbie - can't understand DID concept
I'm trying to get into VoIP, considering an Obi 100 with voip.ms.
However one thing I can't wrap my head around is the concept of a DID. I did my research and still don't get it.
Can't I just port my number over? Do I need a DID? If I do, what does that imply, do I have to dial the DID to dial out? Do people have to dial the DID number to reach me? Will my caller ID read the DID number?
Confused...
