Don't Bother!

Unless you like wasting time and money - don't bother getting anything made by GS! I bought a HT-386 and from day one I have had trouble with it. The support pepople don't seem to know anything! Mine doesn't even have the reset switch!

As a firmware engineer myself, this has to be the worst possible company.

Re: Grandstream Budgetone issues

by bayotle on Tuesday 28 of February, 2006 [12:39:15 UTC]
Hey Peter, thanks for posting that. I purchased a phone from telesmartnetworks.com about a month ago, needless to say after a month I still haven't heard back from them. Since you stated you only got 2 out of 20 as replacements, think i'll just take this as a loss/learning experience and find another phone for my clients. It would be of help to all of us if we had a 'ratings' section where we could look at available phones / reviews and problems or pluses with each.

Grandstream Budgetone issues

by Peter Koegel on Tuesday 28 of February, 2006 [03:29:21 UTC]
We have over 70 Budgetone 102 in use (Customers) Over 20 of those are garbage, the rest has issues, network noice or didn't work right. We replaced and will replace with softphones or other IP phones. I would never recoment and use Grandstream again. Warranty - we got 2 phones as a warranty replacement. The rest - we have to replace it and pay the price.

Does your asterix device understand the SIP protocol? Budgetone understands SIP only. Your asterix device will certainly understand IAX (Inter Asterix eXchange) but may or may not understand SIP. Which device do you have?
