Asterisk Nortel Line Side T1

The line side T1 card is a station card. It emulates a 500TN in the Meridian 1 (an analog station port). As far as the M1 is concerned, all the channels off this card are analog telephones. This being so, you need to program signaling in Asterisk to treat this as a Central Office. Due to the strange way Asterisk signaling is configured, you will therefore have to program the Asterisk end of things to use FXS signaling.

So, now that you have this card in your switch, what can you do with it?

Each of the 24 T1 channels on this card can be programmed as a 500(analog) set. They can be added to ACD queues to enable IVR, or remote agent funtionality. You can run comedian mail with unlimited storage instead of mermail with its crippled storage.
