333PBX Manager new fetures

by acheck, Friday 15 of December, 2006 [07:12:26 UTC]
PBX Manager was greatly improved last time - currently it has multilanguage web interface (English, Spanish, German, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, French, Italian, Dutch - more languages under development); user portal with logins for each extension to safely control extension-specific settings (forwarding, screening, follow-me etc) by end user (without PBX admin intervention) and to provide web access to personal voicemail/faxmail; automated extension generation by specifying range of extensions and extension template or by uploading CSV file generated from included XLS template; macro developing engine which allows PBX administrator to edit/construct dial plan macros providing them with detailed description and detailed macro parameter definitions in order to simplify macro usage within the system; visual voice menu designer; a lot of editable dialplan macros including multitrank dialing, extension dialing with flexible call forwarding, find me/follow me etc; built-in config file editor with direct access to all Asterisk config files and some related to Asterisk /etc/ files.

This software also has multi-tenant version which allows to provide virtual PBX service. Our company use this software in both flavours: as hosted virtual PBX for small customers and as standalone PBX for bigger customers. This way we have clear roadmap for all customers who can start with hosted solution which can be easily configured for him very fast and then we can easily setup customer's stand-alone Asterisk PBX with the same look'n'feel and the same configuration. Unfortunatelly currently there is no way to export virtual PBX config to stand-alone PBX but we were promissed that this feature will be available very soon.

Another usefull feature which is under development is autoprovisioning of popular models of SIP gateways and phones. This feature will dramatically simplify PBX installation: you will have to connect all your gateways/phones to the LAN, press <Scan> button at PBX Manager, assign extension numbers to discovered devices and then config those devices in automated (if this device can load config externally by TFTP/FTP/HTTP protocol) or semi-manual way according to detailed instructions generated by PBX Manager for every device.

PBX Manager operates as Webmin module which provides greater security, flexible access rights control and international language support compare to other Asterisk GUI solutions. You can setup as many admin logins as you need with specific set of PBX settings to be controlled with this login. Webmin software itself has modules to virtually every component of Linux box (both hardware and software) so you easily administer all services from the single screen without jumping between various programs.

333Best I found

by james_t, Monday 13 of February, 2006 [19:37:43 UTC]
This was quick to install and get up and running. It cost around $300 dollars and the company is quite small and friendly. I love open source but simply couldn't find anything that didn't involve hacking around in a database. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for something fast and easy to use.
