Synopsis:

 Block telemarketers with SIT

Description:

 Zapateller(options)

Generates special information tone to block telemarketers from calling you.

Options is a pipe-delimited list of options. The following options are available:
  • answer: causes the line to be answered before playing the tone
  • nocallerid: causes Zapateller to only play the tone if there is no callerid information available.

Options should be separated by | characters

Return codes

Returns 0 normally or -1 on hangup.

The reason why it didn't work is because you don't use the same phone equipment that telemarketers do. Telemarketing hardware receive the tones and hang up and go to the next number. If you heard the tones then it is working.

333Vonage doesn't support SIT

I have Vonage. When I call in and try to zapateller my call, I hear the tones, then it continues to the next entry in the dialplan. Vonage doesn't seem to be looking for SIT.
