The Good:

Great service and Excellent support.

The Bad:

Customer Service department has been fantastic more than I expected.

We switched from another provider about 5 months ago and I have to admit, we are having a great experience with Nextiva. I am glad we found Nextiva and can't say anything but great things about their customer service and Quality.

The Good:

on the phone support they are very nice and really try butttttt================== problems they can not slove

The Bad:

I have had problems form the first day. I have had the service now about a year. I am leaving and going to another provider. Some times our fax can take 3 to 6 hours to work. They say it is backed up. ????? what? So that does not work. They were working on my phone 2 months ago and it lost the phone directory. Well to this day they have not been able to fix it. They say it a software problem on their side and will be fixed. It has been 2 months. They are always nice on the phone and try but they just can not fix the problems. I have spent at least 100 hours on the phone with them over the last year taking care of problems. I am done trying to make it work. I will start the process of leaving this week. I hate to leave as it takes a lot of time to set up again with a new company but I hope this will be the last time. I am looking at jive and intermedia.

The Good:

The service, features, and pricing are perfect for a small business.

The Bad:

I have not had any issue yet.

Before Nextiva, we had used some other cloud based system and our experience was not good at all. We discontinued with them because of frequent technical issues including poor voice quality and call drops. However, Nextiva has been a completely different experience so far. Their system is relatively easy to use even if you are not a computer geek. Most importantly, the voice quality is crystal clear and there is almost no call drops. We intend to use Nextiva for a long time.

Excellent Customer Support and Service at Nextiva!

The Good:

Saved a ton of money!

The Bad:

None.

The transition from regular telephone system to VoIP was a big step for our real estate company. We wanted a service that saves us money without compromising on quality. Also, most of us are not technology geeks and waned something easy to set up and use. We feel that signing up with Nextiva was a wise decision because they have not only saved us money, but provided us tons of useful features that are not available with regular phone systems. We are very happy with their service. Highly recommended!

They are one of the few companies that you can trust.

The Good:

price is great and no hidden fees. very reliable. We have had 100% uptime in the last 12 months.

The Bad:

I have nothing bad to say..

As a small media company, we were looking for a business communication service that fits our tight budget. Right now, Nextiva is an important part of our everyday operations be it receiving faxes, booking hotels, or scheduling interviews. What makes things even more useful for us is that all these services are available regardless of our presence in the office. All these services are easy to use, and backed up by a proactive support team. Thanks a lot, Nextiva!

WORST NEXTIVA REVIEW

The Good:

Price if you needed basic hosted service.

The Bad:

phone went down 4 times for different reason within a month. Horrible user interface. Their support has to pretty much do all configuring.

I don't usually write negative reviews, however I felt impelled to let other potential users know what had occurred. I was using Vocalocity hosted service for the past couple years and looking to reduced my monthly cost. Nextiva sold me on their prices and 30 days money back guarantee. I signed up for their service on August 29, 2013. Throughout the setup process, the sales rep Andy Hu had to keep adding additional services increasing the monthly cost. (The services he kept adding were basic service that is included with Vocalocity.) By September 27, 2013 they still have not completed provisioning my account, therefore the switch wasn't completed. After almost a month and countless hours, I called into Nextiva to cancel my because the 30 days guarantee was coming up and I never got a chance to use the phone because their "on board training team" wasn't finished setting up the account. Keep in mind, I only had 20 users and it took nearly a month for the setup. During my call to cancel, their manager got on the phone and explained that he would extend the guarantee cancellation with money back for another month because he knew that the service has been used yet. Based on the supervisor's promise, I agreed to continue letting the "on board trainer" finish the account setup. Ian Buchanan, the on board tech, completed the set up approximately a week late. It was the worst decision I've ever made. All my incoming calls were sent to no where. I've lost so much money because of this. I emailed Ian and was finally corrected. A couple days later, the entire phone system went down and again lost profit because of this. Their technical support determined that their system did an upgrade but didnt copy the information over to the new system therefore my system was down. The final straw to cancel again was my toll free numbers were not working. They refused to issued the refund because they said I "used too many minutes"

The Good:

The Bad:

From my point of view Nextiva is one of the best phone systems. It was recommended to me by my neighbor and I've been a customer of theirs for nearly 3 years. I don't prefer to rate anything perfect and think Nextiva is around 4.75 stars but this site only allows me to give them a 4 or a 5. I can't see myself using any other company. Whenever I want to make a change, Nextiva can handle it. Nextiva is able to do anything I've needed from my office phones. Plus I know a vendor is good when my employees don't complain about it.

Good internet phone system

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

I recommend. Good customer service, easy to implement, costs less than my previous phone bill.

The Bad:

Some features go unused. While I save money every month, there are countless included features I'm not using and I pay for employee phones that use their lines only a few times per week.

Everyone I've worked with has been polite and pleasant to work with. The bottom line is that I saved money on my company's monthly phone bill by switching. The downside is, I pay the full rate for all of my employees. Even though some of them don't use the phones I still pay for a full line because they do need it. Having some of my employees on an unlimited plan and others on a per minute plan would have been perfect. Nextiva doesn't do this and I couldn't find a company that does. This is why I give them a four star rating for the features. The customer service and sound quality are both excellent, much better than ATandT from before.

The Good:

The Bad:

They don't sell Internet service.

Prior to using Nextiva, we used an Avaya phone system. My calls didn't work well and my employees would complain to me on a daily basis on how the phones were not letting them perform their roles well. While I didn't believe them, I let them propose a new solution that would cost no more than what we were paying. They assembled a group of 4 people to do research and went through demos and calls with each phone company. After a month they came to the decision that 8x8 was the "best" provider. However, after countless setup issues and worse quality than our Avaya system, they went back and setup a Nextiva service account. The experience with Nextiva was much better and we continue to use them today. I pay $400 less than before and I no longer hear complaints about how bad the phones are. It's a good choice for business.

Getting sick of service outages in the middle of the day Nextiva

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Excellent features which are almost all available in your control panel. Very inexpensive for what you get (especially the auto attendent) compared to other companies. The quality of the equipment and sound is good.

The Bad:

Way too many outages. It's usually once every 60-90 days you lose your phone system completely for 3-6 hours in the middle of the day. I don't know what type of business can afford to lose their phone system in the middle of the day but we are not one.

IF they could make it more reliable I would stay with them. I am currently in the process of finding a new provider as I know (because I spoke to the customers) that we lost business because of one of their outages. When someone wants to buy and they try to call you and your phones don't ring from your side or the customers (just nothing, not even a message saying there is a problem) the customer loses faith in you. It's really sad because I like their service but we are a new business and every sale counts. I know there can be problems but a 6 hour outage in the middle of the day on a weekday is not exceptable. If it was only once I could accept it but it has happened 3-4 times over the past year we have had the service. Again it's really a shame because they could be a top knotch provider if they could stay up and running. Great features and great price but poor reliability.

Nextiva experience

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

The implementation process was what impressed me the most. Professional and easy. The overall value is better than our previous Mitel system. The customer service, price, features, simplicity.

The Bad:

There is no in-person customer service. It's all over the phone and email. Not a significant issue for my business.

I have six locations throughout Utah and moved from a Mitel phone system to Nextiva after we had a flood. The features, easiness, and customer service during the setup process of Nextiva has made me a fan. We currently have 19 people using the phones.

Nextiva is much better than what we had before

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Voicemails and call logs are always available since the phone system is hosted. We don't manage or worry about the phones anymore.

The Bad:

My firm bills by the hour and having acces to voicemails and call logs is critical. I switched phone system companies because my last phone system would randomly reboot and it would result in clearing all of our data. This meant all of my call history information and voicemail messages would be cleared. Beyond how Nextiva is just better in every way, it's been a breath of fresh air to have my voicemail and call logs secure.

Nextiva is the model

The Good:

The Bad:

Nextiva is the model other phone companies should follow. Every person I've spoken to at Nextiva has been helpful and patient. I've had my fair share of disappointing experiences from phone companies but with Nextiva I've only been impressed. The way I see it is that they're real people. The closest comparison I can make of a company that rocks as much as they do is Zappos.

The Good:

Customer Service, Call quality, equipment, ease of use, reliability

The Bad:

My business has used several phone service providers before finding Nextiva. Without question, Nextiva is head and shoulders above the competition. The call quality is indistinguishable from traditional landlines, I have yet to experience a service interruption and they offer outstanding customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone needing a telecommunication solution in their business.

The Bad:

I'm a two year customer with 9 desk phones and one in our conference room. When I got Nextiva to start, we only had one phone and signed up because the price was low. Fast forward three years and I'm using more features and happy with the service. I love it.

My recommendation - Nextiva

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

The Bad:

I have more than 20 years experience in telecom. I've experienced countless companies attempt to provide business grade services and I know what a first class provider should be like. Phone service for a home user is different when compared to a business service. Comcast and Verizon were never able to cut it for me. In a business environment, companies can't afford a dropped call or unreliable technology. Being on the other side of the fence, I appreciate what I get from Nextiva. I've been a customer since the beginning of the year and I can already tell what a great phone company this is. I operate 13 3-person offices in Texas, New Mexico, and California. With Nextiva we now have all employees on one phone system, rather than 13, and the ability for everyone to dial one another by an extension (reliably) has been a productivity and morale boost. As an added bonus I've saved $800 month on my total phone bill by switching. Nextiva is recommended by me.

One year review of Nextiva

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Audio quality and reliability has been great. Using Nextiva for phone and fax lines, both are better than what we had before. This was our first "cloud" element, we now have our online data backed up in the cloud as well as our email and website. Technical support has been helpful each time we've contacted them, including twitter.

The Bad:

The features are vast and took us a while to Transferring our phone numbers took 3 weeks to complete. While there was no down time, it would have been preferred to see it complete faster.

The features are vast and took us a while to understand. Coming from an analog environment was a transition that took about 3 weeks to fully complete. This included porting numbers, educating employees on the phone system and new internet faxing, getting the phones installed and making sure everything was the way we needed it. The technical support is what deserves the most praise, every person has been quick, kind and knowledgeable.

The Good:

Customer service, features, and price are why I chose them and why I'm with them.

The Bad:

The account portal online isn't something I use regularly but when I do, I need assistance from customer service by calling them.

I won't consider the idea of switching back to Verizon. Nextiva has been great in nearly every capacity and my phones finally work better than ever before.

We had an issue with porting on our original phone providers end, but they were able to help us through the ind. Overall, no complaints.

Running and managing the phone system has been great. Getting started did take some getting used to but the customer service is helpful and friendly.

The Good:

Customer support. Price. Adding or editing employees online. Flexibility of system.

The Bad:

Technical knowledge is needed. While the customer service is good, friendly, and helpful, I don't think it's simple enough for everyone to use. If you aren't technically experienced, getting started will take time. Once it works, it's just phones.

Nextiva's been a dependable solution for my phone service. They deliver a great service and I highly recommend going with them. Make sure to test your Internet speed before going with a voice over Internet phone company.

The Good:

Customer service: Bar none the best customer service I've received from a company. Features: Tons of them and the phones do a lot. Call customer service to learn about the phones. Price: I pay $30/line after tax. I was paying $65 before I switched.

The Bad:

No new 800 numbers. In order to get 800 I had to buy them online. Nextiva only had 888,877,866, etc.

If you are using or considering to go with Nextiva, make sure to call their support and spend time learning about what the system can do. It's more than just basic phone service and it's able to do many different things. I've created different settings for different groups and departments at my office. Their customer service is the best.

The Good:

The Bad:

I'm an IT director and serve as a consultant on my off time for local companies. Throughout my career I've implemented on-premise PBX phone systems and supported my clients when they were in need. As I've moved many systems and processes to hosted environments, I decided to consider hosted phone systems earlier this year. After researching platforms and service providers, I made the choice to recommend Nextiva after testing them. The technology they have is impressive, twitter support is rock solid, and flat out the features out perform what I was getting out of Shoretel and other premise based systems. One advantage of Nextiva has been the call reporting tools. I'm able to retrieve important calling data for my clients and they use this to manage employees. But most importantly, Nextiva provides the support and houses all the technology. The customer service engineers have always been quick and smart. Again, I can't express how helpful the support via twitter has been. My posts get replied to quickly. Nextiva and hosted technology as a whole is the way to go.

Worst VOIP Service Ever!

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Lots of features if you can get anything to work!

The Bad:

Dropped calls. Poor technical support. Overpriced for the aggravation caused trying to resolve problems with service.

From the beginning there were problems. Porting and set-up took weeks due to incompetent Nextiva employees. Have been with them for 2+ years and have had recurring problems with dropped calls. Technical support is horrid! As a non-technical person, I was suggesting options to technicians. (They should offer me a job!) My latest issue was with dropped calls on my 800 number. Nextiva refuses to take responsibility for the problem and has charged me for over a month of dropped calls to my 800 number. They put me on hold for minutes at a time (on my cell phone, no less!), do not return calls and are generally incompetent! I am finally biting the bullet and am going to drop them. Can anyone recommend a good business VOIP service for my business? AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!

The Good:

Setting up the phones went as expected. I called customer service for help and they were patient, courteous, and helpful. The price I pay for 5 lines is almost half my previous bill. No waiting on hold when I call them. Calls to my desk forward to my cell phone if I don't answer. Good features. Voicemail messages are sent to my outlook. Our front desk receptionist takes less nonsense calls since the phone attendant routes where to go. There is a management interface online but I haven't used it. I prefer calling Nextiva for assistance, but it's good to have.

The Bad:

I pay $130 a month and this is a large savings for me. The initial payment was higher though since I needed to purchase voice over ip phones. Plan to pay approximately $100/line for each phone.

Traveling has become easier for me. The new phones let me send callers to my cell phone when I'm not in the office. I didn't have this feature before Nextiva but now can't live without it.

The Good:

The Bad:

None

Taking a look back at what my office and I went through during Sandy, I'd like to share how valuable Nextiva was during the tough time. They deserve 5 stars across the board. I'm an attorney and have clients throughout the Northeast as well as in California. Having lost power, gas, Internet, and lots of other things, my home and office phones stopped working. As soon as I noticed this, I called Nextiva and they recorded a special message for callers to our main office phone, letting them know about Sandy and what was going on. They also forwarded our direct line numbers to cell phones, so when people needed to reach us directly, they were able to. This was a huge relief and our calls weren't going to busy signals. No other service I have for my company was as smooth and helpful as Nextiva.

The Good:

-It was easy for me to make the switch and it's been worthwhile.

The Bad:

-When I started Nextiva I had Clear for my Internet service. The quality wasn't good, calls would be choppy and sound weird so I had to switch internet services. As soon as I started using Cox everything has been better. The internet company made a big difference.

-I used reviews and phone calls to each company in order to make my choice on who to use for my body shop phones. Make sure to buy the phones from them. I don't know how it would be if I bought them from Amazon or someplace else, but I do know that when I got Nextiva all I had to do was plug my phone into the Internet walls and they started working. Like I said above, the internet service made a big difference for me. Clear was not a good option and because it was a wireless connection, the line would cut out sometimes. Now with Cox everything is much better. The technical service people from Nextiva have always been good to speak with too.

Huge Mistake!!

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Technical support is here in the United States and they pick up the phone quickly. Also, the representatives mean well.

The Bad:

Technical support personnel often provide an incorrect answer and will send us down the wrong road to resolution. I sometimes need to speak to several representatives before obtaining the correct answer. If you happen to get a representative who is knowledgeable and can resolve an issue, great. If not, you're in for a rough go. We have experienced numerous dropped calls in which customers either could not get through to us or the call would go dead during a conversation. In many instances, a customer would have to call back two or three times before getting through. It took Nextiva over a year to resolve our problem (we hope!), and we were told that the problem was with the service providers they use. I have probably logged a hundred hours on the phone (no exaggeration!) with Nextiva technical support personnel over the past year. It has been a horror show!!!

Of all the decisions we've made for our small business in the seven years we've been operating, Nextiva was by far and away the most regretful and damaging. If I found a genie in a bottle, I would have only one wish: That I had never heard of Nextiva! We could NEVER in a million years recommend Nextiva.

The Good:

Customer oriented Ethical Fair Quick to help and answer calls

The Bad:

I purchased Nextiva in August for a new business I was launching. After purchasing 5 phones and numbers, I promptly received the items and would get phone calls and emails from them...checking in to see how my service was and if there was anything they could be of help with. A few weeks after signing up, my partners and I decided not to move forward with the business. Therefore we had no use of the phones and phone lines. After being charged by Nextiva for two months of service, I remembered that I needed to cancel. I called Nextiva this past Friday to cancel service and the lady I spoke with was helpful, understanding, and effective. Even though I was significantly out of the 30 day cancellation window, she recognized that I had not used any of the service and offered to refund all charges. This in itself is deserving of this review and I feel like this is something not many companies would do for a customer. Getting all my money back is nice but it's about the principle, no other vendor I've dealt with for establishing this business has or would do the same thing as Nextiva did. This was beyond ethical and as a business owner I appreciate seeing this.

Phone and fax service

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Able to connect anywhere. Calls come calls to my cellphone anywhere I am in the world. Faxes get sent to my email inbox. Voicemail messages come into my email and I can check them via the attachment file. I've been able to block numbers that I don't want calling me. Customer service is always helpful. A great example of what customer service for telephone companies should be like these days. International calling rates are lower than my previous provider. Most countries I dial are 1 to 2 cents per minute. I've been able to make and receive phone calls via a soft phone on my computer. I prefer having the ability to change settings from the online portal and use it on occasion.

The Bad:

The interface can use a 2.0 facelift. I can only pay with credit card, PayPal is not an option.

Nextiva is deserving of 5 stars as I've been a customer for a year without any major complaints. The service has always been on and working right. I hope my pros above do a good job of sharing my view. Having Nextiva for phone and fax service has been great. Sincerely, Rebekah (a Nextiva customer for many years to come)

Phone System with Nextiva

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

The telephone customer service is helpful and quick to answer the phone. The phone system is great once it's setup. Pricing is low and fair. International calling rates are charged per minute and low. Features such as getting calls forwarded to my iPhone.

The Bad:

Purchasing phones in order to use the service. I couldn't use my Avaya phones with them. Each phone was $100, which can add up. Getting setup on your own is somewhat of a challenge. I consider myself tech savvy, but had to call support in order to get started. As I mentioned above, the customer service is helpful. I'd consider this a small point. Nextiva deserves 5 stars for all the categories above but I'd rate them 4 for the setup. My setup call took approximately one hour. There's no on-site technician service. All help requires a phone call to their customer service department.

I would recommend Nextiva. The fact that customer service is helpful and friendly, they're made my experience positive. I shopped around before signing up with them and in my first few months with the service, I'd say they exceed any other phone company (in every category). While I wrote a few cons about Nextiva, none of these are problems I'd really consider significant. The five star ratings I've given are well deserved. Please note that I've been a Nextiva client since the beginning of this summer, so my experience may not be as thorough as others. Yet, if this type of service continues I will surely use their phone system for many years to come and gladly recommend everyone I know to them.

The Good:

Friendly (but useless) support

The Bad:

I lost about 50% of my phone calls for 4 months! The customer support is friendly but NEVER resolved ANYTHING and NEVER returns calls or FIXES ANYTHING.

I lost half my calls for four months, they tried to help but I had to educate their staff on some of the finer points of VoIP and Asterisk usage, they were pretty uneducated and never fixed anything. I switched to them because I wanted phone support, and I have since moved to Sipstation, which saved me a lot of money per month and works much better.

The Bad:

Read below.

Prior to selecting Nextiva as our phone system provider, I setup test lines with a handful of hosted VOIP companies. As the CTO of a healthcare data solutions company, it was vital that I selected the best phone system for our offices. I spent an entire day for each phone system working on setting up and learning the systems. All in all, most companies shared similar features and prices. Nextiva stood out from the rest when it came to call quality and helpfulness of the technical support agents. The latter is something I value, but at the end of the day the line quality was most important for me. I can see that some aspects of these phone systems can be a bit challenging for a non-technical person. However once the phone system is setup and working, there's very little management required. The phones simply work, as phones should. To be frank, I've accessed the control panel interface no more than 3 times since February. Having had experience with the Cisco 504G and Polycom 550 for our offices, I'd recommend the Polycom model phones. They've been robust and the handset call quality is slightly better with the Polycom phones. One caveat, the Polycom VOIP phones are pricey. Without any sort of doubt or hesitation I'd recommend Nextiva. It was a great choice to select them as our phone system provider.

Nextiva: Best Deal

The Good:

The best deal for a phone system. I shopped around, did research, read blogs, reviews, called companies and Nextiva has been the right choice. Considering how old and bad my old Toshiba phone system was, this has been a tremendous change for the better.

The Bad:

Nextiva was a tad bit more expensive than the other companies I considered. But I decided to move forward with them because they seemed (and are) the best. Having no contracts was a bonus, but the Nextiva phones cost about $4 more each month.

Each person I've talked to has been kind and smart. I spent at least 2 months reading and learning about voice over ip phone system companies before I signed up with Nextiva. This gave me an advantage when speaking with each company and finding what's the best fit for me. Since my Allstate agency requires certain configurations, such as special after-hours calling. I made sure Nextiva can do and has done everthing I need. There are 5 people in my office and we live off of our phones. The fact that Nextiva made the switch from my Toshiba phones to theirs so easy, deserves this top notch review.

The Good:

None that I can think of - no service since we joined them 5 days ago

The Bad:

no service since we joined them 5 days ago - very bad technical assistance

We were ported to Nextiva 5 days ago;Nextiva did no testing done prior to the port;our phones have been down since the porting.;We can get to tier 1 support and they cannot transfer to Tier 2 support to resolve the problem; They will not cancel the port - so we are stuck with them for now. Beware

Nextiva: Great Choice

The Good:

Support is knowledgeable and helpful. I am saving $250 each month on the bill when compared to ATandT. Setup was easy (however the porting of my numbers took 3 weeks to complete) Features are powerful and abundant.

The Bad:

As mentioned above, porting took 3 weeks to complete. I don't believe Nextiva was at fault, ATandT has always been slow and not helpful. Phones can be pricy. I have their most expensive color screen phone and paid $300 for each. Model Cisco 525.

A great phone company. I've got 11 lines (and growing), Nextiva has been much better than ATT in every category. I switched companies to save money and it's proven to be a great choice.

Nextiva: Top Notch

The Good:

call quality, customer service, after care, features, not a bandwidth hog

The Bad:

none

Everything with Nextiva has been top notch, exceeding my expectations. I came off of using another major cable/phone with their digital voice manager. I didn't have any problems with them, I was just looking to save some money. Not only have I saved quite a bit by switching to Nextiva, but they've given my business some cool features that will upgrade my company's image and will help improve our customer service -- and for less than what I was paying before -- even after adding more lines. I love these guys. Call quality is perfect with no discernable impact on bandwidth. Customer service and aftercare has been flawless. I strongly reccomend them to any business looking to improve their communication technology and cut their costs.

Nextiva: Going Smoothly

The Good:

Easy to setup and quickly add trunk lines. Clear audio. vFax service is great!

The Bad:

User Portal could use a few more reporting / graphing features.

We have been using Nextiva for our customers SIP trunks for a year now. Things are going smoothly and the ability to get a human on the phone instantly when support is needed is invaluable. The vFAX service is a huge hit with our clients. The price to service is just amazing. Much better then eFax. No problems with sound quality at all. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a SIP trunk provider.

Nextiva: THE BEST

The Good:

This was SO easy and Quality is top notch

The Bad:

None

This has been a total success for me, from the first conversation that I had with my sales rep Mike to the tech support that resolved my problem in less than 3 min from start of the phone call to the end. I have been in the Sales world for 15+ years, and not once have ever had someone as knowledgeable and all around great as Mike. This company had my business from the very first call. Their price was the best, service exceptional, on time, called back when they promised, tech support was top notch and didn't treat you like they were staring at a screen, they actually engage you in conversation and make you feel like you are continuing to make the right choice using this service. I would and will recommend this company and service to anyone looking to use VOP phone systems.

Nextiva: Best Customer Service

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Customer service is by far the best of any VOIP provider that I have used. They are knowledgeable, responsive...and they speak ENGLISH! Yes, they are located here in the US! Sounds quality is very good and their platform is VERY flexible, I can do things unthinkable before.

The Bad:

With a platform so flexible, it comes at somewhat of a cost. It is complex and complicated and at times, making changes requires you to call and update configuration files instead of having those files update automatically. A minor inconvenience.

I have been using Nextiva services for over two years. I really like the sounds quality and pricing. More importantly though, is when things go wrong, their customer service group is very knowlegeable, patient and responsive. I have dealt with other VoIP providers and nothing compares to the professionalism and expertise of Nextiva's support staff. And, they reside here in the US...yes, American jobs! Their platform is feature rich and there isn't add on costs for the add on features. I have 20 phones, 5 automated attendants and use advanced features, all for the same basic price. I have to say that after expierencing three other VoIP providers, my BEST experience and excellent pricing is with Nextiva.

Nextiva: Inferior Service

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Nextiva provides a very nice package of features at a very reasonable price. Customer service is friendly and easy to reach.

The Bad:

I had sound quality issues from day one. After 3 months, Nextiva never resolved the issue. I had to cancel the service. I found out that the number given to me was not portable. I am starting a new business and had to change my phone number, business cards and advertising to reflect a new number. Nextiva refund policy is VERY POOR! They accepted NO financial responsibility for providing me inferior service from day one.

I thought the service was great for the first month. I then received complaints from business associates that they kept hearing sounds as though I was hitting keys on my phone during the call and found it distracting and making it necessary for me to repeat myself frequently. Undoubtedly, potential customers heard this and chose not to tell me how bad the connection was which certainly did not help the good impression I was trying to promote. I spent 1 month not knowing about the problem and two months trying to resolve the issue with Nextiva. I spent hours and hours on the phone with them. I replaced the modem with my cable company, replaced the Nextiva adapter, and purchased a new router from Nextiva. I also had numerous technical adjustments maded from Nextiva. I was probably told 5 times that the most recent solution effort would almost certainly resolve my problem. One tech support person said the chances of his solution being successful was 99.5%. Nothing ever helped.I finally had to give up and move on. When I went with another provider (my cable company) I have had no voice issues, but found out that the number Nextiva provided me was not portable. This caused me to have to spend money to redo my business cards and advertising materials. Businesses who may decide at a later date to call me on the old number will not reach me.Nextiva did not financially refund me what they should have. They charged me for 3 months of inferior voice quality. They knew they were doing this for the last 2 months. The adapter I purchased and was then replaced was not refundable because I had the original adapter over 30 days. I only had the replacement adapter for two weeks and it did not resolve the issue. I am stuck with a $55 adapter plus shipping that never worked. I paid $87 for a router from Nextiva that I was assured would resolve my issue. After 5 phone calls, they finally gave me instructions for sending it back. I will see if they refund the purchase price of the router as they told me they would. I am still stuck with the paying the cost of delivery of this router and also the cost of sending it back. I have spent over $250 for inferior Nextiva services that will not be refunded. Obviously I also am out the cost of replacing all of my advertising materials due to the lack of portability of Nextiva's number.Clearly many Nextiva customers are not having these technical issues. Without these issues, I would be happy with their service. If you go with them, just realize that if you have problems, they will not make it right.

Nextiva: Saving Thousands

Posted:

The Good:

Affordable, easy setup, excellent customer service, great functionality(auto attendant, voicemails sent via email, hunt groups, etc). One service provider for phones and efaxes on one bill. Ability to reach other locations by dialing extensions.

The Bad:

Loss of internet equals no phones.

We are more than pleased with the services we are receiving from Nextiva. We're saving thousands monthly and have only gained in functionality, losing nothing. Our dedicated representative always responds whether he is in the office or not. We highly recommend Nextiva to anyone looking to transfer to a VOIP provider.

The Good:

The Bad:

could not get system to work for me. though they give you a dedicated sales rep. I found them to be slow to respond.

Good not great business service. Would recommend 8x8 over nextiva. I have used both. But feature rich (that part better than nextiva). Excellent control port and responsive system.

The Good:

The Bad:

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

The Bad:

Nextiva is my third voip provider and I primarily chose them because my first two providers, Vonage and Aptela, could not solve my issues. I spent countless hours with the tech support for Vonage and Aptela without permanently fixing the quality of phone calls. With Nextiva the voice quality is good and I had my problems fixed on the second day of being with them. The Nextiva identified that the problem was with my router and the way my office Internet network is designed. I am in my second month of using Nextiva and I would recommend the service it is great.

I would recommend Nextiva

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Controlling the phone service online and the good customer service.

The Bad:

Phones can get expensive. Over $100 each for good ones.

I read and relied on reviews before choosing Nextiva for my phone service. Having the service managed online has been useful. Their isn't much I can complain about. What I need to work, works. Customer service is helpful and fast. I would recommend Nextiva.

Nextiva: buggy system

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Nextiva has an easy fax interface

The Bad:

Their system is buggy and it goes down frequently. When their system goes down, they do not notify customers. Their billing system has double billed me on three seperate occassions, and customer service is a 10-12 minute wait consistently.

Yesterday, I had a mission critical fax to send while I was working in the field. This what nextiva was designed for . At 12:58 I uploaded my fax. Unbeknownst to me, Nextiva fax server went down for most of yestaerday. My mission critical fax sat on their server until 9:57PM. Needless to say I missed the deadline and lost the business.A simply courtesy email could have easily saved the day. But Nextiva's basic customer service startegy is to deny, then ignore then overbill.Although the interface is easy to load and send faxes, their customer support and system realiability makes them a net liability rather then an asset.I have taken the time to write this review based on the customer service agents promise that a supervisor would call back, and as I have te day off, I will continue to write reviews until said call back occurs.

Nextiva: Very good overall service

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Very clear audio. Easy setup and nice web interface. Very responsive customer service and good customer education about their system.

The Bad:

Should have bought more expensive IP phones.

After switching from a local PBX to Nextiva not only did we realize a great cost savings we also got a better call quality and easier to manage system. The ability to send calls to any cell phone after hours and to travel with our phones has become some of our favorite features. It allows us to field calls from anywhere with an internet connection, or anywhere with cell reception. We had some issues getting the system set up how we wanted at first but the customer service department helped us and gave us easy to read training materials to fix our issues. Very good overall service that we have recommended to other businesses.

Nextiva Voip: Switching was simple

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Switching was simple, service dept. is useful, lots of features

The Bad:

Price is not the cheapest and the process of moving my numbers took longer than expected. The transfer felt like Qwest was holding my numbers hostage. Everything worked out after almost a month.

Once my phone numbers transferred to the Nextiva phone system there were no more issues and I became free from Qwest. I would rate them 5 stars for every category here, but with free services like Skype and Google I would say Nextiva is not the cheapest service option. But for the amount I pay each month it is a great deal that I am satisfied with.

I have been satisfied with Nextiva

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Helpful people with a good phone service/ Everything works/ Price is low

The Bad:

No cons

I have been a Nextiva customer for almost two years. While my experience with Nextiva as a phone company may be unique, I would like to share my views. I graduated from Penn with a degree in psychology in 2008 and after a year of research and fieldwork, I opened my own practice in Los Angeles. When I was researching for phone companies, my options were to go with Time Warner Cable or a voice over ip company. I spent a week looking into providers and chose Vonage. Voice over ip was and is the right way to go. Vonage looked good and was the most affordable option. After my first month with Vonage being filled with calls to their support helpline and no progress being made, I decided to get my money back and search for other providers. Vonage continuously blamed Time Warner and Time Warner would blame Vonage. It felt like I spent more time dealing with the phone problems than on my business. Since nearly every office in my building was using Time Warner, I assumed that the issue was on Vonage's end. My second round of research for a new phone company introduced me to Nextiva. The person I worked with to establish my service, Albert, was knowledgable. Since the process of moving phone numbers from one phone company to another took 2 weeks, I decided to lose the number I got from Vonage. I ended up getting a local 310 number with a toll free and fax line from Nextiva for $30 each month. Since voice over IP phones were priced at over $150 I purchased an adapter by Linksys that had the same functionality as the one from Vonage. The same day I received the adapter (which I bought on Amazon) I called Nextiva for setup assistance. If I recall correctly the call took less than 20 minutes and I was setup perfectly. My Nextiva line has been clear without any drops since my first day. I moved to a new office last October as well as added 2 employees and a partner. Prior to the move I purchased Polycom IP phones directly from Nextiva and added the new lines to the phone system. Every call and interaction I've had with Nextiva has been pleasant. Everyone has been courteous and helpful. There may not be a cookie cutter phone system or "one size fits all" phone company for every business but I have been satisfied with Nextiva and would recommend everyone I know to use them.

Worst Business Manners

Posted:
Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Great sales team to get you hooked in, but they disappear immediately after you sign.

The Bad:

Tier TWO techs are impossible with the worst business customer service I can even imagine.

I had high hopes for this VOIP after reading the great reviews. However, buyer beware! Once you sign the contract the service quality immediately depreciates. First of all, I could never get a hold of my original sales rep to place the order for my phones. Due to his lack of support, I barely was able to set up my phones in time before the numbers were ported and mind you this takes 2-4 weeks. Setting up the Polycom phones is very easy. You can even find instructions online and do this without a tech. Their level one techs are not bad. Very pleasant for the most part and I did deal with many if not all of them. Tier 2 techs (for when you have major issues), good luck. Just dont even bother waiting for them to contact you back. They pushed my issue regarding a panasonic phone as "unfixable" and a problem with MY internet. after 3 weeks of incredibly frustrating attempts to find someone at Nextiva willing to help, one special level one tech figured out the problem. THEIR coding was wrong. And it was such a small and minor fix to get this line working. After my second attempt and now pretty furious email, a supervisor finally contacted me to apologize for the issues. (this is before the situation was resolved). He assured me they would assist me and compensate me after the issue was resolved. Now? His email doesnt work, the sales reps email doesnt work, no replies from billing (just to get a copy of an invoice for phones ordered that they never forwarded to me), and no replies from the general sales@, billing@, and welcome@ email's. Seriously I have never NEVER dealt with a company so unorganized, and with such a large lack of respect for even just decent customer service. If you are lucky and have no problems setting up, they are ok. Otherwise, although they do not outsource, boy, they are no help. By the way, note that when they port your fax number, you WILL have down time. You have to contact them when your fax number is ported so they can make changes. And yes, they fail to tell you this beforehand.

This service has been nearly perfect from the start. While Nextiva is the only voip company I have used for my office, I did shop around before choosing them. Their people seemed to be the most knowledgeable and that was my main reason for going with them. The price is much cheaper than most of the options out there. If you use them, I recommend trying the voicemail to email service. It's free and works on my iphone.

I spent the last 12 months as a VOIP customer of 8x8. I was locked into a contract and without huge disconnect fees we were trapped. The phones arrived and few weeks after having baby spiders hatched from inside the phones. We were on the phone with there technical support weekly for 12 months. Each time we were given a different story. As a company who makes outbound calls to generate income we lost a lot customers and money due to the service outages we experienced with them. I had to pay my employees while they sat and waited for the service issues to be resolved. I had 9 lines with them and the monthly bill was crazy after the promo ended. I was trying to downsize and save money after having a integrated T1. I switch to 8x8. I was about to go back to copper lines from the local phone company due to my distaste with VOIP. I was on vacation in Las Vegas and couldn't get in contact with my office. I saw in my email that there was 45 missed calls that never rang to the office and went to voicemail. I immediately searched the web and found NEXTIVA. My sales advisor Jeff made me feel that VOIP was still the way to go for my business. I was given a risk free trial and within few days I had my equipment. The setup was a breeze and got walked right thru. The quality of service and support is superior. We have not had any of the problems we experienced with our old provider. I cannot express how grateful I am to Jeff and NEXTIVA for getting my business phone service back online 100% of the time. They ported my numbers fast and without any delays. I would highly recommend NEXTIVA to anyone who is looking for a VOIP system. Not to mention they provide the customer with some of the best brands in hardware. SincerelyAndrew

My experience with the Nextiva phone service has been very good. The price is good for the monthly service and practically everything has worked well. My primary reason for switching to them was because I moved into a new office and needed a phone system. I partially ignored all the features for the first few months but after the tax season rush I spent time learning about the features and how things work. Calls to my phone number now ring my cellular phone if I'm not at my desk and after that forward to my receptionist during business hours. The online control panel is good since it allows me to manage all aspects of my account. Without any doubts I would highly recommend Nextiva.

Could not make a simple phone configuration work

We decided to try out VoIP based on the press about savings and features over traditional phone providers. This outfit (Nextiva) had 5-star reviews and seemed like they might be a good choice. However, it turned out to be a bad experience.Their salesperson started by assuring us that they could handle the phone configuration we had in mind (quite simple - Trixbox PBX with 2lines in to 5 internal phones). However, as soon as we got hooked up we had nothing but problems from day 1. They initialliy could not get our configuration to work. They gave up on that and signed us up for their hosted plan. But they then came back and tried to charge us more for using the hosted service. We went back to the TrixBox which started working to some degree, but we soon found out that any little change made to the configuration required a change of some sort on their end. It all ended when their support group came to the conclusion that they were a hosted provider and could not support a configuration such as this. They were nice about it. I did get calls and E-mails checking in to see how things were going. They were just not very competent and did not seem to know what they were doing.

The Bad:

The Nextiva voice over ip service has been a great option for us. I sell dental equipment and use a softphone for calling and receive everything on my cell phone. The good part is, everyone calls my business phone number, yet the calls ring to my cell phone.I travel nearly every week for work and use the softphone to place calls. It runs off my computer and internet connection so I usually use the wireless at each hotel. I never purchased a desktop phone since it doesn't make sense for me. Plus the softphone is free. All in all the Nextiva has been good for my needs.

Nextiva - An Unhappy Customer Review

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Good, clean sound and affordable

The Bad:

Phones did not work for months! Yes, friendly but terribly inadequately trained customer service reps.

I did an incredible amount of due diligence prior to choosing Nextiva as my VOIP provider. I was impressed with the high rating and reviews I read on line but now I believe that they may all be fake reviews. Maybe I am the only only who has been kept hostage by Nextiva for the last 8 months but I doubt it. My experience with this company has been a nightmare! I have been paying for 8 months services I have not received. We can not make out-going calls, incoming calls go directly to voicemail and I haven't seen a single fax come through. We estimate we have spent a total of 180 hours trying to fix this problem, have lost an immeasurable amount of business and our cell phone bills have skyrocketed since this is our only way to make outgoing calls. When we work with customer service they do not keep track of your account but only track the ticket number so you have to waste your time going through Level I to get to Level II service every time. There is only one customer service rep who knows what he is doing and we either had to stay on hold or wait 2 days for him to call us back because he is overworked. Why didn't I cancel? I was so frustrated at one point I was going to switch back to landlines but was told by the carrier it could take 3 months to switch and once I began the process I couldn't just stop it so I decided to be patient. What a mistake!

Nextiva: One of the worst companies that I've ever had to deal with

The Good:

Price

The Bad:

Service, support, reliability

One of the worst companies that I've ever had to deal with. Promise support turn around of an hour that turns into days. Support itself is ineffective. Most of the support responses are a variant of "check SIP ALG on router". We've been using these guys for about a year and trying to grow our company but they clearly can't handle it. We have 14 lines with them and our calls get dropped, sound quality is choppy even with QoS, and many of the extensions can't be dialed directly. I've tried to get them to fix the issues but it seems every time I talk to them the service only deteriorates further. Don't trust your business to these guys especially if you need your phone service to be stable or reliable. I'm moving all of our users to Vocalocity.

The service has worked better than i thought it would. I got Nextiva setup based on the good things i read and I can agree with people who wrote here before me. I started my own company and went with voice over ip instead of my local phone company for the office phone. The price is a good deal and so is the overall value of this service.

Nextiva VoIP Review - Everything has been great!

The Good:

Everything has been great!

The Bad:

In order to get the $29.95 price you have to pay 3 months at a time, that's the only con. Not even that big of a deal.

I can't say much about these guys other than they have been great. I think it is pretty clear across the board that their customer service and tech support is great. We had a couple issues when we were setting up the phone, but they endd up being issues with the phone, which wasn't even their responsibility since we bought those through another company. They still worked with me to get us up and going, upgraded the phone remotely, and were just very helpful. From the time I picked up the phone to call and order to the time we were up and running fully was about 2 hours. No time at all and would have been about 30 minutes if we didn't have issues with the phones themselves. Great company!

The Bad:

I have been a customer of Nextiva since 8/09 and have been happy. Mobility was what I need for my calling and my cell phone is not the right fit for me. I can't operate my business off of my cell phone. I use voip on my computer with Bria and Nextiva. Since I travel regularly I got myself a wireless card from Sprint and I'm able to make all my business related calls from my computer. The caller ID information shows my business name since I am calling from my Nextiva service. The best thing that I started taking advantage of is calling on the airplane. Delta has wifi service and I make calls thru Bria. It is great and I fully recommend giving it a shot. Quality is clear and its been a blessing for me.

The Bad:

Read review.

I switched from Vonage to Nextiva after two months of hell with Vonage. Calls would drop and their outsourced support was horrible. I'd wait on hold to get help and the phone would disconnect or they would have to call me back. The only benefit of Vonage was that they gave me the free equipment. Fortunately I was able to get out of the contract without paying a termination fee. I got my number that I transfered from Verizon to Vonage over to Nextiva and since I have switched everything over, Nextiva has been perfect. The monthly service rate has been cheaper than Vonage and Verizon while the service has been better ten fold.

Nextiva: If you have a business, stay away

The Good:

Price, friendly customer service

The Bad:

Everything else.

I chose Nextiva after seeing the reviews on this site. However, I must say I am extremely disappointed. If I were a residential customer with one line, it would be fine. But I run a business with several lines. I have had a series of problems with porting the numbers. Nextiva advised me of the porting and gave a 3 hour window, which was good. So I tried to set up the number to forward to another line immediately so we wouldn't lose calls. We lost calls. I called customer support, who then walked me through a bunch of steps "cycle" the phone, which apparently needed done in the first place. That was fine. I then prepared for the next numbers to port, only to find out 4 days after they ported that they already ported. Luckily, these numbers were rarely used, however we found out that they ported when a customer informed us that a "robot" answered the phone. Embarrasing. After about 2 months of using them, I still have a number that won't port. I can't get ahold of anyone to fix this. I've left messages and e-mailed. Now, I am calling them and THEIR phones aren't working...not a good sign for a communications company. Also, their web interface is not user-friendly and is not logical.Bottom line, if you have one phone at your house, they're probably ok. If you have a business, stay away.

Excellent call volume, sound quality, and reliability. Excellent customer service. Good Value.

The Bad:

I have been using Nextiva's InTalk service for a couple of months, and I could not be more pleased. As a frequent international caller, I had been using another provider that now offers "free calling" to a number of countries. The problem with the other provider was that many calls did not go through, I had frequent dropped calls, and voice quality was inconsistent. I tried InTalk based on the recommendations on this site, and what a difference! Now, my calls always go through, voice quality and volume are quality excellent, I have not had any dropped calls. Sign-up was easy and Nextiva ported my number without a hitch. Also, I was particularly pleaed with the technical support person with whom I spoke. He was not reading a script--he was clearly competent and concisely answered my questions. I highly recommend Nextiva's InTalk service!

The Good:

None- It doesn't work.

The Bad:

Everything- no service.

I bought Nextiva because of the good reviews I read on this site, but I have had it for two months and it has never worked. The agents are friendly but force me to spend hours on hold while they do some bogus "work" on the system. They tell me as soon as I recycle the equip., I will have brilliant phone service. I have done this more than 3x. Yes, I have spent more than 3 hours on the phone with them (what phone?). I now believe that they have no interest in residential customers. They take money and when I asked for cancelation and refund, I was told to call back in two hours (another tactic--delay, delay, delay). Nextiva for resdential customers means using up cell-phone minutes on them (which I had reduced because I thought I had a home phone, which after 3 months, I still do not have).

I found Nextiva from sites reviewing them and went with their phone connection because of the good things people say. Nextiva has given us everything we need. We run our phones with them, our 800 numbers and our faxing. Having consolidated the three services and saving money is exactly what we wanted. The Good:

People are nice and the entire system works right.

The Bad:

Overall I have been very pleased with nextiva, hence me writing a testimonial. We use dsl for internet connection and switched to voip when we moved offices. Instead of taking our service with frontier business to the new location, we signed up for nextiva and had them port our numbers. We are going into our third month using nextiva and can say that it is an upgrade from what we were using before. Frontier was charging us an additional $25 each month for long distance. The sound quality is very good and using the using the online account manager to change extensions and information is easy and an upgrade compared to what we were dealing with when we used frontier. It would have been great if the porting of our numbers completed earlier, the process took us a bit less than two weeks. I've calculated that we will save $2100 in our first year. The line and long distance savings are big. We are saving good money on toll free minutes too. I recommend nextiva for small business.

The Bad:

It has been exactly one year since I began with Nextiva / InTalk VOIP service and I have had no problems, only excellent call quality, instant transmission over my high speed FIOS service, voice mail that is clear and provides messages at the touch of a button. Customer Service with InTalk is second to none..something that I have not always found. This is one of three voip providers I am using and definitely will stay with InTalk. I recommend this service to anyone seeking good call quality, instant ringing, no dropped calls, excellent price and superior customer service.

Hi, we have had Nextiva service for over a week now and we are thrilled at what great service they offer. Customer service is tops, you get on the phone call their toll free number and you talk to an agent right away. I was able to set up an account in less than 10 minutes. The user portal was very instructive and withing 30 minutes, our softphones were up and running. Lines are crisp and clear!!! Better than phone quality. We have been doing business with other VOIP providers and it is nothing close to what they have. We even tried sk**e (good luck with their customer service!!!)Had i known about them 8 months ago, when we started our business, my estimated savings would've been more than $5,000!!!! and this is just for the 15 lines that we have. More lines, more savings. Thank you nextiva.

The Good:

reliability customer service "can do" attitude cost

The Bad:

I decided about a year ago that I wanted to embrace the latest technology and look into VOIP for my business needs. I looked at all the most popular providers available, and decided on a solution. Boy, did I make a mistake. The provider I went with was very expensive, and the service was less than adequate. It constantly was down, and they kept blaming the upstream carrier and downstream carrier. It was never their fault. All I wanted was a reliable phone system. I gave this provider more than one chance to redeem itself because I did not want to go to the trouble of training my staff on a new phone system. The initial set up and training was painful. However, after being down time and again I had no choice. Nextiva to the rescue!!! When it was time to switch providers I did not want to make a mistake a second time. I did my due dilligence on the best providers out there. From the initial consultation to implementation, I knew I made the right decision. My sales rep (Todd) was on top of everything I needed and felt my pain and anxiety changing services. My biggest fear was the day we went to do the conversion. I was expecting a huge process and issues that I was going to have to deal with. To my surprise, it was smooth and easy. Nextiva held our hands through the entire process. We were up and running in no time. It was absolutely unbelievable!!!! Furthermore, since we have been up and running, we have not lost 1 call. It's not normally like me to post user reviews but I wanted to get the word out that if you need a VOIP solution, Nextiva is THE ONLY WAY TO GO. I have reccommended Nextiva to anyone who needs a good system. When phone service is your #1 source of doing business, you need a service/partner you can trust. My trust is with Nextiva.

The Bad:

Service has been great. I had a very frustrating experience with atandt and the main thing I was looking for when switching phone companies is customer service. I couldn't stand sitting on hold for 20 minutes and when it became my turn, my call would get transferred to two other departments. I dont have this happen with nextiva and thats one of the many reasons why I continue to recommend them. It did take some time to get accustom to the user interface, but overall I would say it's logical and versatile. I paid a contract termination fee to leave atandt and the risk paid off. The auto attendant is a feature I used at the beginning but have since stopped using, mainly because I have a secretary answering the phones during the day. At nights we use our after hours voicemail system, and its convenient that nextiva sends us emails each time we get a new one. The support people have been courteous and patient. The product is good and as someone that is not technically inclined, its good using them.

fist the whole year can bee paid in advance for a gran total of 253 for the whole year. comes up to 21.8 per month. the voice is good, staff is friendly and helpful, easy to set up. good features easy to use.

The Bad:

tech support is only from 8 to 5 pm Monday true Friday. the service is mainly for bussines. there fore less features and fax is extra. have to dial with are to all phone calls, the rate for international is is more then what it have in their rate page.

was tired of land line phone that was to expensive. had att regular plan no long distance it was supposed to be 26 per month but after tax and usb it came up to close to 30 per month so decided to cancel and don't regret now i am paying about 22 per month for local and long distance. the service is good few detail but nobody is perfect. so if you looking to change to voip this is a good start the only head up is if you port ur number it takes about 10 days and if previous number is tied to internet u will experience a disconnection for about another 10 days after disconnected. the service is missing some features such as fax and cheaper long distance rete, but l since it is a business company its different. it would be really good company if it had a service dedicated for residential more features and lower rates for long distance. over all i recommend had not had major problems.

I have had this service for the last two months and I love the voice quality and their customer service. One thing I should mention is that their sales process is completely hassle free and their sales actually helped me customize solution to meet my needs. During the last two months, I had the opportunity to call their customer service department. Believe me, the representative spent one whole hour patiently fixing the problem that was actually caused on my end. If you are looking to replace your traditional phone line or replace your voice over ip service provider, try them; you won't regret it. I am writing this detailed review because that is how I myself came to learn about them, and I want to give back to this community.

The Bad:

I am an Executive Assistant for a Fortune 500. My husband and I recently decided to relocate closer to family, and as a result, I am moving to a home-based office setting where I will continue supporting top executives, their teams, and clients. My husband, who is in IT, offered to help me find a great phone solution for my new home office. He decided to go with Nextiva, and I'm so thankful he did. I had consulted other colleagues who are set up with home offices. Many of them use Vonage for VOIP or simply have a land line and none of them are happy with their setups and try instead to make the best of it. Me. I'm thrilled with Nextiva. My setup is professional and the quality is fantastic. My boss was very impressed with the sound quality when he called me from Guatemala. Also, the service Nextiva offers is top notch. They are highly responsive and professional. Their tech support was knowledgeable about the hardware we purchased and within just a couple hours of signing up, I had received an email thanking me for my business and offering to help in any way possible. As an Executive Assistant, I spend a good amount of time on the phone. I make a lot of international calls, run conference calls, and transfer executives to one another. The features are perfect for me. If I need to run out on an errand, I can forward my calls to my cell, so I'm always available, which is critical for the executives I support. If I miss a forwarded call, I get an email on my smart phone with a wav file so I can respond right away, wherever I am. I also feel good about the fact that I'm not submitting a high invoice each month to my company. It's a good, fiscally responsibly choice. All in all, I'm blown away by the features, the quality, and especially the service. What could have been a very scary and stressful transition from a corporate office environment to a home office has instead been a wonderful experience for me and those I support. I would strongly recommend Nextiva as a professional business solution, particularly to home-based users.

The Good:

Ease of Use. Easy to set up all features. Very good customer service. Calls to land lines are crystal clear. Don't take us for granted.

The Bad:

Some calls to cell phones have slightly lower sound quality but this may be due to mobile vendor and not the fault of Nextiva. Hard to know. But when dealing with landlines, the sound quality is always 5 out of 5. And for most calls to mobile phones, its 5 out of 5 but not 100% of the time. But this may have nothing to do with Nextiva.

I run a small business with my girlfriend grooming cats and dogs and we decided to try VOIP to save money. I gave Vonage months to fix my phone call quality and they never succeeded. They finally told me after 8 months that my internet line was not fast enough. Why didn't they tell me this from day one? Nextiva has given me great sound quality from day one and the its very easy to administer my service online. I was going to give up on VOIP but Nextiva showed me the technology was ready and can work as well as a land line. We're very happy to be saving money and we feel like Nextiva is willing to work hard for our business while Vonage reminds me of the old monopolies like AT and T and the cable companies who don't realize they need to step up their game in this competitive environment. Nextiva/InTalk takes every occasion to make sure we are satisfied which tells us they are hungry for our business and don't take us for granted.

The area where we have saved the most money has been in international calls. The charges per minute for calls to Europe are low, maybe the lowest around. I have heave usage to Sweden, Germany, Greece and Italy. Nearly every number I call is a penny a minute. Incoming toll-free charges at 3.5 cents is also very competitive. I joined because of whats out there on them and I havent been disappointed. Their business offering is terrific and I have not experienced any gotchas. My post sales experiences has been better than pre sales. No disrespect intended to the sale guy - he gave me an accurate quote.

Porting our numbers completed this week. Before the porting was completed we got the service setup and I highly recommend this. Nextiva gave us temporary numbers and got our phones provisioned the same day we signed up. After getting the service working we sent them our porting paperwork and had Cox forward our numbers to the phone numbers Nextiva gave us. It took me an hour to get 11 employees and the phones setup with the service....that's with the help from their support. This is the first time I've ever used a system like this. The customer service has been fast and everything is working the way it should thanks to their setup department. Make sure to use the call logs for tracking. I've started using them to track our inbound and outbound activity and its already proving to be beneficial.

The Good:

Reliable. Voice messages sent to iPhone and call tracking from management portal.

The Bad:

UI can use some tiny help.

As others have pointed out on this forum, switching to nextiva solely for fax is not the best idea. If there was a features category, I'd say for the most part everything is good and I like it. But a fax line is lacking and I can't use my fax machine with them. Taking the fax out of this topic, nextiva is a wonderful provider. The price is good and they offer everything I need. Based on what I've seen I started off expecting great service and received it. Voicemails are sent to my iPhone and I can listen to them without calling my number. Not too sure if there is a better deal out there right now.

Nextiva: Quality Sound

The Good:

Much cheaper than regular land line with lots more features. Eager for your business unlike huge old monopolies like ATT.

The Bad:

Need to have cell phone as back up. If power goes out, your phone service is gone. This is applicable to any VOIP service. But everyone has a cell phone these days so its not a big issue. Power outages are relatively rare in our country. But you need to have back up plan in place if you power does got out so you can conduct business. Maybe put cell phone on cards as secondary number.

Sound quality is great. So far we're very happy. I gave Vonage months to fix my phone call quality and they never succeeded. They finally told me after 8 months that my internet line was not fast enough. Why didn't they tell me this from day one? Plus you have to pay for the router and another fee if you cancel before two years is up with Vonage. I don't remember being told that. (Be sure to cancel within the first month with Vonage; if they don't fix your sound quality or they will tack on those fees.) Nextiva has given me great sound quality from day one and the its very easy to administer my service online. I was going to give up on VOIP but Nextiva demonstrates the technology was ready and can work as well as a land line.

Just having a bill that does not fluctuate is a good feeling. Verizon would give me a bill that changed every month for the worse and I got fed up. I quickly jumped to using Vonage for business after leaving Verizon. Based on what I saw and the feedback I got, you'd figure it's a good switch. Vonage was far better than Verizon when it came to billing and I can't complain about the pricing one bit. Voip has easily saved me $150 each month. The reason I left Vonage was the service. By service I don't mean the call quality because for the majority of the calls I've made they sound clear. I left Vonage because of the customer service. My negative feedback on Vonage should be reserved for a review on them but for the price they are average and a decent play. Nextiva on the other hand has been perfect from the get-go. Customer service has been ideal with Nextiva. Calls I've made with Nextiva are also clear and no problems technically. My wife and I are the only two people that use the phones at our office. The response time has always been prompt and of help. The people are very nice and in arizona. I've recommended them to other businesses I deal with.

The Bad:

have not found any so far

I am an independent financial advisor with my office inside someone else's office. I used their phone system and my clients called my number that I forwarded to this office. My clients heard the greeting and directory of someone else's office. I started researching VOIP's and made a decision that I was going to go that route. I wanted to have a service that made me look like a company not just a person answering a phone. I tried first a residential type service that worked nicely but did not have an answering attendant or any business feel. I then tried Toktumi, worked fine but did not have music on hold and I could not use the softphone it bought from Counterpath. Also, they did not have caller id (i thought that was pretty basic) I then said, fine, I will pay more money to get the best, Vocalocity. I had issues with their service, even though they had all the features I wanted - music on hold, a calling attendant - the true business feel. Their service was not the best, they seemed to blame all my issues on the network! I did not like the price and that calls were being dropped. I looked again and I found - Nextiva. Nextiva is by far the best one so far and the price is what I paid for the first service, the residential one. The service is great, music on hold, calling attendant, I made awesome recordings. I am excited about all the features that it offers. I download my call logs in excel. It is an amazing difference from what I had before! After going through 4 phone ports and 4 services, Nextiva is the best! It was a lot of work but it is for sure worth it!

Nextiva was easy to install. My contact person to get me started was kind and probably a good resource to have but I didn't need instructions to get started and I would assume most tech minded people would feel the same way. With the packaging docs and support people it can't be much of a challenge to get it going. The control panel can use a face lift but my biggest concern is that features work and I have not experienced difficulties. There are cheaper options in VoIP but with the current pricing Nextiva is a great service and value. Reliability gets 5 stars, not one choppy, poor or ended call has happened. I've primarily used Nextiva for business calls via a counterpath soft phone and occasionally with my Linksys phone. The 30 day trial period was a boost in getting me to go with Nextiva and can be useful for others that have never used VoIP in the past. Run a speed test before switching.

No brainer to use them. Coming from Comcast where I was paying them $230 every month to nextiva where I now pay $90. This was my first experience with VOIP and the experience has been superb. This service is the alternative for business. It literally took me 15 minutes start to finish. I setup our 3 phones and the transfer to them was super easy. Lots of people have written lengthy reviews on why they like nextiva and I agree with all of them. I have called the nextiva support a few times. The reps were friendly and knowledgeable. The porting process took 2.5 weeks and was painless. I have never written a review and that itself tells you how I feel about the nextiva system. It was a pain writing this review though. Why in the world do they make it so difficult to post one of these on this site?? I spent more time on this than getting the system setup. lol Not having to pay a frightening phone bill every month where comcast keeps sticking new fees is probably the best part. A+

The Bad:

The sales associate that helped us, Todd was nice and understood the service he was selling me. Of course this is my opinion of Nextiva and what I've seen from this company makes me VERY happy to be a user. The level of service after sales is something I haven't experienced in a while. Most vendors I deal with don't care for their customers........they just sell the product and move on to the next customer. I have been greatly surprised by the amount of support. My two emails I sent this week were responded to quickly and with a good answer. Not just an annoying template. The custom auto attendant is a winner. First, they recorded it for us. Second, I've had customers compliment me on it!! Before the auto attendant we were probably spending half of our days transferring calls from one phone to another. Establishing the layout of our service and what we wanted to achieve was not difficult. I figured there was going to be a manual I had to read - not the case. No need to have a tech/IT background in order to set up. One thing I would say to make sure you have is a good internet connection that's reliable. I had 6 lines and a t1 when we first got things going. Because we expanded our sales line we needed more phones and therefore a better internet connection. Although in our first phase we added 4 employees, I got another t1 and do have plans to continue this expansion of our sales floor. They have undoubtedly beaten my expectations. When I think I save money I get worried, just because I always have the feeling something bad will happen with a company that has cheap prices. Nextiva deserves a thank you from me. Actual people answer their phones and it's not outside the country. I also need to talk about the person that welcomed me when I joined. His name slips my mind right now but a person from Nextiva called and thanked me for signing up!!!!!???? That was amazing and unexpected. If I could give the service 10 stars I would.

As a small business owner I wanted to look into a cost effective home business phone service solution, VoIP was the perfect solution and Nextiva was the vendor of choice ! I was happy to not pay my analog company with all the taxes and surcharges, the Nextiva sales rep I spoke to was so knowledgable and courteous, I was happy to sign up! I'm now able to run my home business and save tons of money, so happy to go from a monthly $70 to a $20 bill! Nextiva customer service was great, patient and hooked me up, literally! In this economy it's great to have such a great, cost effective solution! Thanks Nextiva!

I am a small business owner and switched to a VoIP solution recently and I could not be more happier!! The phone service is cost effective and I will never go back to a analog phone company that charges such high service fees and taxes! I am happy to be a VoIP customer with Nextiva, the sales person was very knowledgable and customer service took the time to get me set-up. I am able to conduct my business efficiently and effectively. I am happy to know that I never have to pay my expensive $70 a month to now $20 a month, it's such a great relief and savings! Nextiva has been outstanding to work with and a great small business partner!

Exactly what we needed. Happy with the switch.

The Good:

Moving providers was not tough and their support assistance is good. The phones were setup when we got them and the online control panel is not tough to understand. The call from their support when we joined was a nice touch. All works well.

The Bad:

Do not have any as of now.

Nextiva was exactly what we needed. We used Vonage for our phone service and when we went from needing just one phone to 4 I started looking at pbx companies. My quotes and research led me to go with Nextiva. Most companies I was looking at seemed similar on paper. We knew that if we were to switch phone companies it had to be during our slow season because I was not too comfortable with the idea of switching our phone service in the heart of busy season. I started researching a month or so before we actually switched and did not want to have one of those horror stories that I read about on sites like this. Nextiva seemed to be the best from what I read on the web and coincidentally one of my suppliers also uses them. Vonage was not bad for what I was getting and I still use them at my house. The porting transition from Vonage has been good and my number transferred yesterday and everything works fine. We are yet to setup all the features but have the basics down for now. I have music on hold, a greeting when people call in and my number works. Because we added three more numbers our main 303 number stayed the same and we got three other 303's from Nextiva. I got Polycom 330 phones to use with them and all of us have the same phones. The phones look ok but I like how we all have the same phone rather than a bunch of different cordless handsets. The phones came to us in two days after ordering the service and were ready to go from the start. Our phone usage is limited right now but as things get busy being able to dial each other from an extension is what I get and expect for my business. The support being in the US instead of overseas with vonage is something I like and is nice but wasn't a reason I'd leave Vonage. I firmly believe in not changing something if it ain't broke. Vonage worked fine but couldn't do what we were looking for and Nextiva can. I'm very pleased and can see myself recommending them to others I know. The MountainCo

Pricing Phones Features Ease of use of online platform

The Bad:

RELIABILITY - never know from one day to the next if they will work properly Tech support - always seem unhappy, long wait times, most problems unsolved

We were looking for a good alternative to the standard phone company and the outrageous bills we were getting every month. I did alot of research, and by the very reviews on this website I decided to go with Nextiva. Ordered the phones and the service, received them promptly and got good help getting it set up. Numbers were ported over correctly, and everything seemed to work fine. We had some call quality issues in the beginning (calls cutting in and out), after a few (it never takes just one) calls to support, someone dialed in to our router and changed some settings and got it fixed. We've been with Nextiva for probably close to 6-7 months now. The first few months were pretty good, as far as reliability. However, it has progressively gotten worse. About a month ago, we had ZERO phone service for about 2-3 hours one morning. In fact, Nextiva's own 800 number was out of service....so, we were there with no phones, and no way to even contact Nextiva to tell them our phones were out. Eventually they came back to life, but for those 3 hours it was a total nightmare. Since then, they have been "okay". A few dropped calls, nothing major. I could deal with a dropped call or two over a month, when i'm saving close to $175 per month. However, lately, it has become unbearable. About 3 days ago, we had a total outage again...no phones period, no outgoing or incoming calls. Again, Nextiva's phone number was out of order, no way to notify Nextiva. They eventually came back up, but now, we're having some serious problems we haven't had before. Randomly, when a customer calls...we cannot hear them at all, but they can hear us. So, we answer...nothing..silence. So, we have to immediately call them back or hope when they call again, that it works. I had a customer call yesterday, THREE TIMES, before we were able to get a good phone connection. I used to recommend Nextiva to all of my colleagues...now, I tell them all to stay away. When it works, its phenomenal (Saving A LOT of money, gained alot of cool features, etc.)...but when it doesn't work...its a nightmare (which is becoming more and more often). Support just kinda takes guesses at what the problem is...emails are unreturned for days. Everytime you call support, you talk to a 20 year-old something, who sounds completely ticked off about their job. I've never once gotten a, "I'm very sorry you are receiving this problem." It's always, "Well....I guess it could be your router." or something similar. Not to mention billing has messed up my renewal amount MULTIPLE times (charging me extra). They always fix it without a problem, but it always requires an email to tell them "You have messed up my billing....AGAIN". If they had better support staff, and a more reliable platform, it would be an excellent excellent company. However, the old adage always seems to ring true..."You get what you pay for." I elected to save over $175 per month for phone service...and now, i'm "paying" for it.

setting up the service took 30 minutes from my weekend. works perfectly.

The Bad:

The porting of our numbers was handled once we provided them with the paperwork. Shortly before we were told our numbers were going to transfer we went into their control panel and setup the service. We use eyebeam when outside of the office and adapters with uniden phones when we're in. Price was the reason we chose nextiva but the overall service has been great.

Nextiva Service is great! I actually have a real person that is my account rep! Where do you find that anywhere these days!? I'm a small business and it does not matter how small or large of a company you are, they make sure you are satisfied and treated with first class service. I got a call from my account rep after getting my account setup. I was not expecting anything, thought it was just a welcome call and thought ah probably will never hear from them again. Well I WAS WRONG, being this is the first time to try Voip, I didn't really know to much about it, so I made a few mistakes. But my rep called me back and helped me through everything! He has e-mailed and called to make sure everything is good. He had Tech support calling me to have my phone setup properly, customer service making sure my bill is correct (even though I picked the wrong plan) ETC. WOW your customer service has been great and everyone including "Graham" (Account Rep) have beat my expectations on any service provider I have dealt with. Not a cable, cell phone, or computer company etc have I had such a personable experience with great service. So don't worry about the bill Mix up. It is worth every penny. Heck it was my fault picking the wrong plan. So lets call it even! I just want to say THANK YOU! I have and will keep recommending Nextiva for a small business solution!! A Mikla Real Life Computers

The Bad:

I recently signed up for the service and can only say good things about it. I was happy with my old provider but since business these days was slower than ever, I couldn't afford to pay that much money anymore. So after comparing the service with some other ones, the biggest point of attraction were the friendly people and the no hassle signup process. After finally getting my phones, I plugged them into the internet box and assigned my employees in the control panel. A litterally 5 minute process to configre my 5 phones. I was able to start receiving and making calls right after that and I was able to forward my number to a temporary phone number I received. I would recommend the service to everybody. They have been all professional and helpful, but at the same time everybody remained so friendly and tried to go out of their way even after the signup process. Would recommended it to everybody, great service that I never would have expected because of the low price.

The Bad:

I first got started using Nextiva with their limited connect plan and it was a good fit at the time. I am a Realtor and was just starting when I signed up so I got one number from them and had all my incoming calls for the business ring the Nextiva line then forward off to my cell phone and office line. As time went on instead of using Qwest for the main phone line, I kept the number I had with Qwest and just switched the entire phone service from Qwest to Nextiva. The transition was easy and I tip my hat to their support staff. Instead of paying for the Nextiva plan and Qwest, I put everything together and Nextiva is all I use. I also did have them record the auto attendant greeting for me, which was free. For the type of business I have where I'm in the office half the day and the rest of the day I'm all over the city, it's been the ideal solution.

Nextiva: great features

The Good:

The Bad:

Lots of great features. A comment on if your phone goes down after hours - there are features under the log in to make it roll to a second number - or to always ring multiple phones. Speed dial features - listen to your voicemail on line - Email your voice mail messages. The list goes on and on. Call records - who called you from where - from what number and when The people that do not like the service do not understand all the capabilities. When you initially set up the Office manager - you have to create an employee - and many of the better functions then need to be set up as the employee - this is the only confusing part

Using Nextiva at our office with 9 phones

The Good:

The Bad:

Price and the features were what sold me. Being our first real phone system we didn't need an Avaya, because of the price and also because we aren't ready. We took a quick look at Vonage as being our first plan but when we saw that for the same price we can get a hosted pbx service, the idea of going with them was killed. Most businesses we work with and meet have some sort of pbx functionality they utilize and I do see why its better than using just a basic line with voicemail. The professionalism portrayed is one thing but having calls ring multiple phones at the same time is a dream come true for me. Be prepared for a mini learning curve if you are not tech savvy. But I can say that Nextiva has done an outstanding job in both getting us started and supporting us along the way. We have 9 phones with them right now and project to be at 30 by years end. The calls sound no different compared to a regular analog connection. I've referred a few friends to them, they seem to be doing well too.

I received a letter from ATandamp;T mentioning that the service was going to end in a few months and felt lost. Not necessarily lost but surely I wasn't pleased or overjoyed about switching services. I was going to use magicjack as an alternative but decided to steer away from them because of some poor experiences I read about. I switched to Nextiva and signed up with the inTALK plan and it's been very good. The price and features are better than what I was getting with CallVantage, and the adapter's setup was not a overwhelming. In fact I would say the transition to them was a simple one. My number was ported to them without a mess. It may have been best for me that CallVantage ended.

The Good:

Tons of pros. I'd start by saying the quality of each call has been clear and I've not experienced a bad call. The customer support has been my favorite. Calling in, the people have been nice and they actually know what they're supporting. Price has been a bonus but not the reason we decided to go with them.andnbsp;

The Bad:

Since establishing the concept that developing an iPhone app was the way to go, we needed a phone system because using our cell phones all day wasn't going to cut it. We have experience with startups, but this was our first iPhone app and the main thing we looked for when shopping for a phone provider was reliability. The last thing we want to occur is to be on the phone with Apple discussing our app then all of a sudden our phone drops. Even though our cell phones give us unlimited minutes, it's not professional for business. The entire iNetMania project was completed in less than 60 days and took tons of works and money. I cannot explain how important reliability is for us. I personally used VoIP with sunrocket, magicjack, and lingo so I've seen the good and bad sides of VoIP. It was a guaranteed thing that I'd be using VoIP for iNetMania, the main question was who. I think VoIP is what every person in the world should be using, as long as they have high-speed Internet. So when doing research on some companies, we landed on five companies that seemed like good fits. I can't speak on any of them because Nextiva is the one we went with. What stood out and eventually led to our decision to go with them was the knowledge the sales rep had. I'm not the biggest fan of sales guys that try to hustle with me, rather it's all about professionalism and knowledge....Nextiva displayed that. Since our app went live and a few weeks before the launch date, we were using the phones nonstop. I continue to use it without any drops and have been fortunate enough to have a strong cable connection coming through at all times. Having the ability for our calls to ring our cells when its late in the evening or out of the office is also a cool thing. The whole setup and getting started was a piece of cake. Nothing was too intricate or over our head, good support and well designed interface. We got some good numbers that were easy to remember. I shouldn't take nextiva for granted, since I just read that ooma had an outage for six hours on monday. Getting our 2 lines running for 60 bucks a month is a heck of a deal. We are so happy with Nextiva that we did not charge them for an advertising spot in our game, we wanted to spread the word about them thru the iNetMania game. They've been helpful and great to work with. With price always an issue these days but reliability being the most critical thing, nextiva has been the right choice. - www.inetmania.com

The Good:

The Bad:

I've been a Farmers agent since 97 and was using ATandamp;T for phones since this last August. Another agent I know was using Nextiva before I was and he was pleased with the service. I don't like to change things unless they are broken and ATandamp;T was not broken, just expensive. But from his experienced I figured it would be a nice ride for myself as well and switched to them. I also took my numbers over to Nextiva. I purchased phones when I switched and the whole idea of doing this now makes sense. To be brief I can say that this was something I should have done earlier, but didn't because I wasn't aware of voip other than vonage. In less than a year with them, I say they rock. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, MY PHONES NEVER WORKED AND THEY DON'T CARE. I have had the worst experience with this company. I ported my phone number. They never told me I need to contact my DSL company so I lost all internet service for 2 weeks. No phones no interenet. Once I got my internet the phones wouldn't work and they were the wrong phones. It is very difficult to get a holf of someone. They make you leave mesaages and no one ever returns them. Once I finally got the right phones they never worked. I have spents hours and hours and hours on the phone with them, mostly waiting to talk to someone. They never could fix the problem and they didn't care that my phones don't work. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I DOUBT THE PEOPLE WRITING THESE NICE REVIEWS ARE REAL.

Customer Service and Price

The Bad:

The service has been better than what I first expected. The price being affordable was probably what attracted me to them the most, but I've been blown away by their kindness and service overall. When I encounter people that need phone service, I immediately tell them about nextiva.Having little knowledge of phones and the way they operate, I had my friend work on finding a phone system for me. Saving time and not having to look for a vendor helped, but my friend Henry has been working with computers for years and knows what to do. I've totally been telling people to go with Nextiva. Making calls from my internet connection is a crazy thought, but it works and I have had no issues. How it works and stuff is too much to comprehend, although with my friend's help and calling Nextiva for help, I was able to ge things started quickly.

I am happy with Nextiva

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Not a hassle to work with and the setup was easy.

The Bad:

What has impressed me the most is the customer service. I once worked in a call center and know the challenges that companies can face, so I am understanding. But in many cases it seems like companies think that outsourcing to India or wherever -----Even the US or Canada is a good idea for the long run. Customer service is a crucial aspect of any service industry business. The service reps are the people that actually speak to the customers. So even if you have a great product, it really means nothing if you ain't got good customer service. I've lost patience with companies that outsource. On top of the good customer service, that knows what they are talking about and are willing to help. I have been most impressed with the phone call quality. We have a three desk phones and a conference phone and the setup was not a daunting task. They do much better than the local phone company would do in my eyes. Not just the fact the support is helpful, but they cost less and it's not a hassle to work with them.

Coming from cox there were some things that stood out about nextiva when I was deciding on our next phone provider. Most important was ease of use and price. This belief applies to all technologies we use. I was paying much more with Cox and got over using their service when I had to wait 3 days for them to fix an issue with my internet and phones. Three business days without service was a nightmare and I learned a lesson to never use them again, period. I got my Internet setup by Qwest and the phones with nextiva now. Before we were paying $770 per month for phones and Internet. We are now at $160 for Internet and $110 for the phones each month. It's a good discount and it doesn't feel like we cut any corners, if anything I'd say we've improved our technology over here. The fact that cox screwed us for three days is done with and now things are working well for us. Comparing nextiva with our cox phones we now have some decent features and the quality has been great. The move of providers was done without having an IT person working for us, Qwest's support and Nextiva helped us with everything.I recommend them.

Outstanding Phones

The Good:

I mentioned the quality that has been good and I just like the features that comes with this as a whole

The Bad:

I got a hang of the service after speaking with the technical support and I would have liked to have our number transfer in less than 2 weeks but it couldn't happen. Glad to have one phone company now.

Our phones for our business work well. We primarily switched phone companies because of the monthly price we were paying. Paying less has been advantageous and the switch itself was smooth. Being our first switch of phone companies the idea of getting a new provider was something new to us. Other than porting of our numbers which took two weeks to complete, it has been an easy ride. Instead of having our calls go to an auto attendant right away, like most people seem to have. We've got the system setup so that it rings our receptionist first and if she doesn't answer the call then it jumps to the auto attendant message. Whenever a call comes in to our main line after our operating hours, we got it setup so that the it plays a different message instead of the same recording all the time. Simply having the ability to manage the service from online is a great value. Yet even though I can't see us using most of these features, I've been blown away by the clarity of each call. I've used skype when I was traveling a few years ago and the quality was not too bad but having calls for my office running off the internet is nice and worth it.

made a great decision to go to nextiva for my hosted voip and trunking

The Good:

The Bad:

We were running a private branch exchange internally and can personally attest to it not being the funnest task most of the time. Using a hosted IP pbx started off as a test run at one of our locations and the introduction of it was excellent without glitches. We separated our asterisk and nextiva service from each other (they were at separate locations) and ran our everyday operations for about two months with both services. Without porting the numbers, the asterisk side did have more activity but we ran our marketing and promotions lines on nextiva once we felt the setup was correct. Having not used a hosted provider prior to this, it was easier than expected to get the hosted platform running. The control with asterisk is a plus but worrying about it was not and did not make much sense to us as the overall price of running our own box vs having it hosted was not nice. At the end of the day, it can differ dependent on the company utilizing the phone system and not every person needs the same thing. For us using nextiva for trunking and pbx has been good and we have now got our toll-free's and local DID's ported to them for all locations. I've played with the interface and customer support enough to give them a high rating and great praise.Mark Sutherland

Nextiva: good from the getgo

The Good:

The Bad:

Nextiva has been good from the getgo. From Comcast, where the service was generally sub-par, Nextiva has been a delight. When I signed up I inadvertently entered the wrong telephone number to transfer over, they helped me change that --even though that was my error. Tech support has been responsive when I have contacted them over the phone and by email. The online help center can use some beefing up but not a major complaint and with good live support, I haven't had the need to really look through their tutorials much.I remember when I first setup my service with Comcast I was on the phone with them for probably three days straight in order to get the service working. Fortunately this has not been the case with Nextiva. I couldn't be more pleased just because of the fact that the setup was not rocket science. After leaving Comcast a bigger plus was paying my phone service on a fairly cheap plan each month by month.

The Bad:

When Verizon abruptly cancelled its VoiceWing service, I was stumped. I figured I'd try to use Skype as an alternative ... not a good idea. I started researching other VoIP services, came across Nextiva's inTALK. It's the perfect solution. Cost is highly competitive, easy to set up, everything about it has been terrific. My biggest shock is when I received a call to thank me for becoming a customer. The call came from a live person, who provided me with his name, and his phone number. When the 'box' arrived and I called with a simple question, on a weekend (typically off-hours for most providers), again a live person, gave me his number, and also gave me his phone number in the event that I needed any additional help.I would not think of considering any other residential VoIP solution. Nextiva's inTALK is absolutely the best.

The Good:

Customer service, Reliability, Price

The Bad:

After checking out information about voip for business I was primarily concerned with reliability. The main reason for switching was price. Across the year, it makes a significant difference. We are now paying about half, so I would view the pricing as fair or even advantageous. I agree that the service and helpdesk is top and deserving of five stars. As with all products I can see that certain things may not be the right fit for all. I am pleased to report that Nextiva has lived up to its reputation. For the money they have exceeded what I would view as good. Having done the recording of the voice for my auto attendant and walking me through the setup process was not expected. If this was Qwest they would tell me to read their support tutorials. For those interested, I am using two lines of the Connect 360 service with grandstreams and softphones. Everyone there has been helpful and they get two thumbs up.

I got setup with Nextiva service and used my own phones I bought off eBay - Polycom 301's. They were inexpensive and work fine with the service. What impressed me the most about Nextiva was the patience the people in support had when it came to configuring both of my phones. From the time I signed up for the service, the people were friendly and helpful but they took it to another level when they worked with me for about an hour to get it setup. This is my new business and first time I'm using voip phones. I saved some money by buying phones off eBay and I didn't know how it was going to pan out but thanks to the support guys, especially John, both Polycoms work. Over the 15 years we have been in business we have always had the same telephone company - Verizon (formerly GTE). Until recently at a Chamber meeting I learned that I actually had a choice. I thought it was a monopoly. Well I can tell you, if you are with a local telephone company you are just throwing money out the window. A friend at the Chamber referred me to Nextiva. Our old bill for 5 lines was almost $400, now we pay less than half. I was most concerned about keeping my number that I had forever now, and they were able to transfer it without any hickups. Support was super helpful and friendly helping me get setup. Sound quality is as good as or even better. I can't ever remember having an experience with my phone telephone company good enough to write about. If there was a rating higher then five stars I would give it to them! The Smog Guy.

support, call quality, price

The Bad:

As a small company saving every dime is important and so is the ability to communicate effectively. We used a few voip providers before we read some of the other reviews of nextiva. After combing through quite a few we decided to give it a whirl. We have over 35 editors and about 5 employees in different states and countries and clear communication is the make it or break it in our business. After a phone call with the guys there we were all setup. The call quality is 1000% better than our mixture of cell phones, skype etc.. every call has been crystal clear since we switched. Thanks to the ability to just dial an extension we just hit a few buttons and are able to call any of our employees and contractors around the world, just like we are in the same office. We had a small problem with a company that did not want to let go of a phone number, but the boys helped us out of that.I reccomend nextiva to any business that relies on communications.

The Bad:

andnbsp;-i have not encountered any problemsandnbsp;

I've used Nextiva for some time, since November of this past year. We like the idea that all of our calls get filtered by the auto attendant and in some cases when we need it, they forward to our cell phones. The call quality has been constantly clear without any issues. There has been times where we have needed help navigating the online systems and when we call into their toll free number for support, whomever we have spoken to has been helpful each time. I've browsed through the online help center and it seems to be quite informative, but frankly its easier to just give them a call. My favorite feature is that i can get my voice mails sent directly to my blackberry. Its not a feature that i would expect my phone company to provide me with, but I'm not complaining ;) Even my clients are pleased with my Nextiva phone service, because they enjoy being put on hold and listening to the music. Another really cool feature that I like is that I can have interruptions within the music on hold. We rotate our specials and I think it helps bring awareness of what we have going on here. I never thought my telephone company would be beneficial for my business. -Rose Tenenbaum

We went from a pbx system to nextiva. Almost everything was working well with the pbx but we started looking for something new when I noticed we can switch from having everything in our office. We considered some information we read on the web and nextiva has been great. Having our system transferred from the pbx to nextiva without much work was a plus. The level of service we have received has been very very good. I have to thank them for making the switch fairly seamless. Our numbers went over to them and there werent too many kinks. The choice to change our phones was a good one.Our pbx was our first phone system and it was fine. But with nextiva having an online interface is great and my customers did not notice any change which is best. I highly recommend nextiva.Indigo

The Bad:

They seem too busy to be interested in a single-line customer

After a bad experience with MagicJack, I was swayed by all the good reviews for InTalk/Nextiva and decided to give them a try. At first, I was blown away with how responsive they were in setting up my account, starting the process of porting my existing Verizon number and getting me the equipment. In fact, I even complimented them on their service, telling them if my initial experience was any indication of their service, I would be very pleased. Big mistake. After that moment everything went downhill - fast. For the last 2 weeks I've been trying to get their tech support to correct a problem where my phone doesn't ring on incoming calls. I can call out just fine, but everything inbound goes straight to voice mail. I've spent hours over 4 different occassions with their tech support (which I must admit were fairly easy to reach). 1 tech managed to get the system to work, but it didn't last and subsequent contacts were fruiless. Now I'm in the uncomfortable position of having my Verizon number ported to a company that can't get me reliable service. Peachy.Be forewarned, if they say they will call back, they don't. 4 times I was told they'd call back - 4 times I had to call them. As I write this I am, again, waiting for them to call me back. While waiting, I've already gone through the sign-up process with ITP (my LAST try with VOIP) AND finished this review. p>

I have to share our experience with Nextiva. We had a old PBX from talkswitch for our 5 person company and service with Qwest for phone service. After going through a few companies we ended up with Nextiva's 360 plan. They helped us setup our remote employees with some phones and a few adapters, walked us through the online interface and helped us meet our needs. The end result was that we were able to save over $400 a month on phone service. lol what more can you ask for?

The Good:

The Bad:

This is a follow up to my posting the other day. Unsolicited, I received a phone call from a Nextiva Q/A member. They have addressed my 911 address issue. The caller ID problem is some sort of infrastructure problem and should be addressed over the next few days. I also had a problem with the call blocking/filtering. With some verbal instructions, this has been addressed also--I had to omit the dashes when setting up a phone number in my Nextiva phone-address book. With some minor edits to this web application or detailed instructions, this could potentially minimize frustration for future users. I only have a SOHO account with Nextiva so I'm a small customer. But I can honestly say, I have NEVER had a company want my business so badly as to follow up with me to ensure my that my problems have been completely resolved. I can't say that about my former legacy POTS provider!!! Thanks for following up Nextiva!

What I've been impressed the most by is the quality of calls, not only when I use my office phone but also my soft phone when I travel. Getting the service setup and running was not as daunting as I had believed. It's good that all my calls are free in US. The only company that deserves five stars in my book, is my own. But coming from a service that cost more and practically came with nothing, Nextiva has been nearly perfect.

The Bad:

I signed up Dec 08 and had my number ported the next month. When dialing 911, it currently does not pass my address information to the 911 call center. Caller ID only passes the number, not the name. The profile/business rules set up for call blocking, etc. have not worked. I have called customer service repeatedly. While I can usually talk to a polite customer service rep, I cannot get followup resolution to my problems. Phone service has been fairly reliable after working out several other configuration issues with my ATA device and web page profile, although while talking last night my phone call got dropped and had to redial. What am I doing wrong that others are having such a positive experience with this company?

I was gona go with a few other companys but they were all trying a way to take advantage.....I couldnt be happier with Nextiva's service. I am paying less than what I was before and really like what I'm getting. Not having to track our outgoing calling is also good, I have 6 guys on the phone that call leads all day long. We focus on clients in California as this is where our business is located. We don't have to pay for long distance calls or anything like that. We are yet to have any surprises with our phone bill. Support is efficient. Stick with em!

The Good:

The Bad:

None to date.

I actually signed up for their SOHO (small or home office) VOIP service and it's 19.95/month vs. 29.95/month. It was very easy to setup, just connected directly to my phone and router and boom. Done! I have tried several VOIP companies in the past and read reviews here and needed to give my input. The customer service is great and english native speaking. The quality is perfect and I have been using for 1 week now and am ready to dump my copper wired/ATandamp;T service! no need to spend more than necessary. This has minimal bells andamp; whistles but has all the essentials like call forwarding, voicemail, caller ID, etc. I doesn't have music on hold, and a few of those sorts of things, but it's as good as copper so I'm sold 100% on it.

Nextiva I just switched over to Nextiva from Vocalocity (I woulod say that Nextiva is much better than Vocalocity but this is an industry that really needs a good culling....I am be no means a tech person - for the most part I gather more useless information then ever before and bought into the concept that I need all of this info. I really like nextiva so far just have issues with their service dept, I have a small business (3 employees) and just wanted to replace my "telephone company" competition is alwasy good for the consumer...each time I call the customer service dept to have my phones set up that all phones ring and if no one answers it goes to voicemail. Unfortunatly, there is really only one person that I've spoken to that gets it...and does not try and change the way we do things here. Each of the other service people tend to not listen to my issue and just automatically tries to "fix" things that really causes more problems for good. Nextiva has no concept of the value of my time - we have easily lost any sort of savings that we intended to have by switching to Nextiva just through my time waiting on the phone for service or trying to fix this stuff. I hope that this company understands that service counts not so much price....get it together and they will have a supperior product and name.Just like this review board....there is enough crap to send someone to the moon as far as bold, paste from word even insert a freek'n smiley face...but put something useful on this like "spell check". what's wrong with these people!!!!If most of us new how to use all of this crap we wouldn't need the phone company in the first place....just stupid!I also just noticed that the ratings that I complete and the ones that are shown to the public are different. The Bad:

you must be stupid to go with another company!

The features with Nextiva's phone service are the best. I needed phones for my startup and did not think that a pbx made financial sense. The investment could have gone elsewhere and has. I got Nextiva so I can practically get the pbx features without the pbx. Two of the most important aspects of my business are hosted by other companies not myself. The sales person was extreamly helpful and professional. I think that I've gotten more than what I first thought I was getting when I decided to use them. Im moving into a new office next month and will be adding additional lines. I first started with one phone line and fortunately will be at about 11 lines soon. I'm used to using regular telephone service so having an online control panel to manage my account was something new to me, but I actually like it. It's convenient how I have the login to control the settings however I need to. Having used the Nextiva service for some time now like that the phones are not something I have to worry about. didnt have one problem....fast, Helpful, conviniant, and smart! A+++++++

The Bad:

The steps it took to switch our company's service to a nextiva was not as difficult as I thought. We pay for one phone line and there has not been much of a difference when comparing nextiva with verizon...... other than paying $63 less each month and having actual customer service. I had a land line connection with verizon and the quality sounds fairly the same. My main reason for switching my phone company was to save money. We have tried saving in every area possible and the $63 each month makes a big difference. Nextiva gives us long distance for free too. This cost us extra money each month with verizon. We have one 877 number and a 781 phone number, both of these were taken over to nextiva.

Using Nextiva for my business

The Good:

The Bad:

Since launching our business in 2000, we have had four phone service providers. This is not including Nextiva. After some network outage issues with our last phone company, we started looking for our fifth provider. Nextiva was the company that we chose to go with because of their functionality, price and positive feedback. I'm in the business of transportation, both medical, security, and limousine. Most of my drivers/employees work from our company cell phones, so we need a good call routing system that can reach our office phones and the drivers' cell phones. The way we've got our Nextiva service setup, we have an attendant answer all the calls. Each call forwards to the appropriate person. This has actually saved us from paying $11/hour for one of our secretary's, as the auto attendant now routes all the calls for us. When I signed up for Nextiva, I was give the option of using adapters or desk phones. I chose the adapters and now connect them to our Uniden cordless phones. Our office has six direct phone lines and then we have additional extensions for each of our drivers using cell phones. We have done our best in cutting our cell phone costs with Sprint as much as possible and now we are paying less on our office phone bill as well. Having the office phone and cell phone combo is helpful and the setup we have right now is something we will be keeping.

From Nortel to Nextiva Review

The Good:

Ease of use, service quality, overall value

The Bad:

Not switching earlier

Our office has been using a Nortel pbx phone system for about 3 years. The quality of our pbx was good and we did not have too many issues. The reason why we switched to Nextiva from our Nortel system was because of cost. It did not make financial sense for us to have an in-office phone specialist. Our firm has 9 full time employees and 12 phone lines. Although we did not have a problem paying his salary for years, we have been forced to cutoff our IT person. While he was still employed we had him do research on new phone providers and he recommended we use Nextiva. The switch from our nortel system to Nextiva was a clean one and the service has worked brilliantly. The cost benefits have helped us and therefore for cost, nextiva deserves 5 stars. The overall service quality warrants 5 stars, there have been no issues and I've recommended Nextiva to others. The Nortel system was a good move when we first came into business and did not know much. However now that we are using Nextiva, we will surely remain a customer.

I am a mortgage broker and have been using Nextiva's Connect 360 service primarily to have my office calls ring to my cell phone. I cannot always be at my desk so it's very helpful that the calls forward immediately to my cell. Having this feature setup was not too tough, I called into their support line and the gentleman that assisted me was helpful. After signing up for the service, I received my phone number within seconds and the control panel interface was easy to navigate.I did watch the video tutorials as well as explored through their help center on their web site. It was nice to see that a member of the support team also called to thank me for choosing them. It was a quick call, but a wonderful touch. I have enjoyed having their pbx service.

We have four locations in the New England area and use Nextiva in each office. The setup of the system was not as challenging as I pictured in my mind before choosing Nextiva. We had to port our number to Nextiva and this along with the establishment of our web based account was supported by their customer service dept. The signup process was a breeze and we were well-informed of the system by our sales associate. It took us about 2 weeks to make the decision to switch from our original provider to Nextiva.I understand that the phone service is highly dependent on the internet quality/connection. Fortunately each of our offices has a T1 connection but the quality of the Nextiva service is clear even when I take my office phone home. I should note that this is probably one of my favorite points of the service....the fact that my office phone can be taken home yet work like I'm in the office.Whenever we have any questions their customer service dept has been good in providing us with answers. As our business continues to grow we will expand our service with Nextiva.

The Good:

*Support - Email and Phone*Price - Better than what I was paying with my previous providers. For 7 phone numbers, its a good deal.*Soft phone and auto attendant*Transition process

The Bad:

My business and phone companies never got along. First I was with MCI who would charge me absurd fees and taxes so I moved to ATandamp;T which was nearly the same story, loads of fees and taxes that don't make sense. Throughout the process of moving providers I've been fortunate enough to keep my phone number so my customers don't really know that I've actually switched companies. The switch to ATandamp;T was not tough and the same with Nextiva, the transition was quite simple. The fact that Nextiva handled the majority of the process for me saved me money and stress. In using Nextiva, I've found a phone provider that cares about my business. This was something that was lacking with my previous phone providers. My company has been in business since 1993 and I've realized what it takes to succeed, caring about your customers and hiring well. Reviews of companies are not something I do on a regular basis, I have my own company to worry about :) but I've grown an appreciation for the service and people at Nextiva.

The Good:

The Bad:

The feature we use the most and the reason why we chose Nextiva was because of the find me/follow me. It's crucial that clients and partners are able to contact us at anytime and having our service managed via the web is good. Having the calls ring our office and cell's at the same time was we needed. 6 of us work under the same toll-free number and its great how we have separate logins allowing us to manage our own extensions. I would say that none of us in the office are technical so the simplicity of the service is fabulous. My experience would rate the Nextiva service as a gem. When we signed up - setting up our service was nearly immediate. We established all the profiles from the control panel and the auto attendant recording was impressive. It blows me away that they recorded this for us for free. Support answered the phone fast and was helpful when we wanted to have our account reviewed just to make sure we were doing everything right.

The Good:

Support. No contract. Inexpensive. Setup was simple.

The Bad:

I signed up for nextiva near the beginning of October. My service is their unlimited 360 plan, I probably don't use even half of the features included although I do like how they're there. My cousin recommended nextiva, the company she's with uses it and she serves as the technical contact. I figured she's a techy so would know whats good and whats not. Her tip to use nextiva was a good one. Of all the features that come with this service ------ the most important one to me is the calls------. All the calls sound the way they should. I use their technical support whenver I have some questions as well as my cousin. I like the fact that my service can be used with an adapter that works with my cordless phone. I like to walk around with my phone, and the ip phone would probably be a nightmare for me. I'm fond of the fact that no contract is required with them. The concept of contracts should be the last thing I worry about and nowadays when I see one I feel like something unfair is going to happen. I've made some occasional calls to Belgium and they all sounded great. Each minute costs about 2 cents!! In the past I was scared to call outside of my area code, thankfully those days are gone. Based on my experience until now along with that of my cousin's company, nextiva is a good pick.

Nextiva has done a wonderful job - my expectations have been exceeded and they have our highest recommendation.

We went from an in-house solution to hosted voip with nextiva. The pbx worked great for the first 4 years but all of a sudden started acting up when we expanded our office. The idea of hiring an IT person just for our phone service did not make sense as we are quite technical people and hiring someone just for phone service seems foolish. The pbx was not the cheapest equipment in our office therefore we tried our best to make it work, we truly did. Rather than having a full-time IT person we hired a consultant for $160 an hour and he was a strong supporter of having us switch to another pbx provider. We were close to switching our in-house solution with andquot;newerandquot; devices but decided to back out after we saw our IT consultants bill.....He (I won't mention his name) wanted $3680 for not being able to fix anything. The last thing I or any of us at SimpleSites wanted was another nightmare with our pbx. This experience resulted in us going with a hosted provider, NEXTIVA.We switched our service over to Nextiva quite easily. We purchased 9 Linksys SPA942 phones and before we even moved forward ran some voip quality tests in order to confirm our Internet network can handle the load. The network was and still is able to handle the load. I have not experienced any breaks in sound which was something we had a horrible time with when it came to our pbx. For some reason our automated attendant never sounded clear but with Nextiva it sounds the way it should. I am highly pleased with Nextiva probably becuase our last experience was not the best. Our expectations may have not been the highest, but even if they were I think Nextiva still would receive five stars.

The Bad:

andnbsp;Nothing poor to say about Nextiva.

I think its a big plus that my operated by two people is presented as a much larger corporation. Our phone service has a company directory and the features are not what the typical business receives from most phone companies. Nextiva gives us things we never thought we would get from our phone company without having to pay hundreds each month. Their support dept. is thorough and helpful. We use a linksys adapter for our two lines along with soft phones when we are out of the office and have not experienced any quality or uptime issues. The service with Nextiva has been quite basic, having the online control panel is an advantage.I was worried that the quality was not going to be as good using an adapter but I was quite surprised. Im not sure if the great quality is unique to Nextiva, but I can hardly imagine the phone calls sounding better than they currently do. We are able to fully hear every conversation. The option of using an adapter allows us to use all types of phones and doesnt require us to spend money on ip phones so it's been great. Nextiva has our recommendation for service.

The Bad:

Choosing Nextiva as our phone provider was not an easy task it took lots of discussion with our management team as well as the sales associate working at Nextiva. At the end of the day we realized that heading into difficult economic times we need to critically evaluate all costs and although our phone service bill was not a top priority it was something we were interested in. We were hosting our own pbx system for ages and having it hosted elsewhere was not something we wanted to do until we realized that we no longer need an IT consultant for our phone service and that we can benefit from a new system. The fact that Nextiva handles all aspects of the service is great and should have been the solution we went with from the start. Unfortunately the hosted pbx technology was probably not too popular years ago but today it looks like its the future. It at least is the future for our business. We will surely come back and write another review down the line to update our experience but as of now the service has been greater than expected. Cheers.

My recommendations are heard and my reputation is on the line if I recommend a poor quality company. I have great confidence in Nextiva and continue to recommend their voice over IP service. The setup of their service is simple and does take a lot of work on my part or my clients. We order phones that are pre-configured by Nextiva and the online control panel is easy to navigate and utilize.I have 14 clients that have switched to Nextiva and each one of them has been pleased with my recommendation. Review of service

Sound Quality Reliability Features Customer Service Price Overall User Rating
The Good:

Easiness to switch and quality.

The Bad:

I confidently regard Nextiva as a superior service. I won't be looking at back all those years of wasted money for our POTS service. I've been considering using VoIP for our office for years but never made the switch for a few reasons: 1. We did not want to lose our phone number, which we've had since 1992.2. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Our service with ATandamp;T wasn't broken but we were tired of spending $830/month for 7 phone lines. 3. Worried about the call quality and if the service works. This is coming from someone who has not had the best experience using Skype.4. Purchasing new phones.I will start with number 4 and move up. One of our reasons in switching to Voip was to save money and one of the last things we want to do is spend. But I was really impressed how Nextiva did not pressure us in buying their own phones and gave us the option of bringing our own IP phones. I did research and really liked the Linksys 942's so I shopped around a bit. We found some for pretty cheap on eBay but decided to use Nextiva because they configure the phones for us, which saves us some time in setting up. Number 3. I would regard this as one area of Nextiva's service that has impressed me to the point I am writing I review for them. The quality of each call is phenomenal. In no way can a person tell you are using Voip unless they see the IP phones in our office. The service was easy to setup after joining and the people in support were very kind when I called in asking for help getting the system functional the way we wanted. Number 2. ATandamp;T was not broken at all, it was just too expensive. My entire bill with Nextiva is $232.19 each month and this includes everything. With ATandamp;T if one of my employees were to call long distance I would get nervous. I've been using Nextiva since July and the billing has been clear and straightforward. If I were to use Nextiva for 3 months it would pay for one month's service with Nextiva and I'd even have money left over with Nextiva. Number 1. A few hours after we signed up, we received an email from Nextiva's porting department with information on how to port our number. I promptly sent them a fax with a copy of my last ATandamp;T phone bill as well as a form they needed me to fill out. I was impressed that they emailed me that same day with a confirmation and my number seamlessly transferred to Nextiva two weeks later. My number is still with Nextiva, working properly and safe. The move to a VoIP provider for our office was not the hassle I initially pictured. As I've told some of my assosciates, it feels good to sever ties with ATandamp;T and I've advised them to do the same.

Remote office support, employee portal, helpful supportandnbsp;

The Bad:

I've read the reviews around here and people seem to be Nextiva fans for multiple reasons, for me the reason we switched to nextiva was the features. Price is important, particularly when we consider how tough it is to make money right now. It seems like every business I've encountered has been hit in some way.Nextiva gives each of our employees their own control panel which is very important because most of the sales team works remotely. We are able to forward all calls to their home/cell phones using the call handling profiles feature and they've been very pleased. The voicemail to email feature is impressive (I'm not the biggest techy btw). A great thing about Nextiva is that we are always connected and our phone system has made us more efficient and the entire system is easy to manage. Nextiva costs us less than what we would have been paying with our local provider as well as most other voip companies. I called their sales department and spoke with a representative that was very helpful and knew what he was talking about. Customer service is something that far too many companies lack these days and its wonderful to see that Nextiva has a strong commitment to their users, this is what we try to achieve with our business as well. When customers are happy your business will succeed, it is tough to do well if you don't treat customers with care and treat each one as a priority. Comcast somehow does well without caring, which is a whole other issue.

Nextiva - 360 Unlimited

The Good:

andnbsp;Entire system, 360 unlimited plan.

The Bad:

andnbsp;No cons/negative

I have been using Nexitva since September 08 and they have impressed me with their support and system as a whole. My service did not take long too setup, although the transferring of my number took about 2 weeks. They were very helpful in setting up my control panel and auto attendant. I like how each employee gets their own login in order to manage their account. This was a feature that was not included with my previous provider. I get to manage the entire company's phone system, while each employee gets a login of their own.Their entire system is quite advanced, in the sense that it can do lots for a business. But it did not take too much time to get a hang of it. The call profiles section that enables us to forward calls to multiple phones is great. We also use the hunt group for our sales and support team. I can confidently recommend their service to anyone looking for a phone provider. Based on the price and what we get in return, Nextiva is above average.

Nextiva Review - Wilson Cleaners

The Good:

Auto attendant. Free long distance.

The Bad:

I am the owner of a dry cleaners and was a customer of ATandamp;T for phone service since 1998. I decided to swith providers after hearing such great things about voip, especially that its the andquot;futureandquot;. I read reviews as well as spoke to a few voip companies, and made the decision to go with nextiva. My favorite feature right now has to be the auto attendant. Nextiva recorded the greeting for me (for free) and it sounds great. I have a weekly specials section within the recording, which hopefully helps business. My business has been hit by the current times - regular customers are not as regular as they once were - but the money I have saved by coming to Nextiva has helped in a great way. My dream is that I can continue to make similar moves with my other expenses and for everything to work out the way it did with nextiva. The setup/signup process was easy. I bought two phones and got everything running in 3 days. I'm still getting a hang of their control panel and what their service can do for my cleaners, but so far so good.

A Nextiva Review

The Good:

The Bad:

I have never used a business phone company, mainly because I am operating my own business for the first time in my life. I have had lots of experience with the big phone companies, Verizon, TimeWarner, ATT, etc. My business has no outside funding and my goal is to keep expenses to a minimum. I am achieving this with Nextiva when it comes to phone service. At first most of the voip companies I came across were not familiar and I was quite hesitant to give any of them my business, but after the positive reviews and speaking to most of these providers my choice came down to Nextiva. The sales associate was helpful and made sure Nextiva's service was able to support what I am looking for.The most important thing for me is the auto-attendant. I don't want to answer every call and don't have the time or money. So I like how it is able to provide my customers with basic information like my hours, location, and specials. Setting it up was easy and I used my son to do the recording of the messages. I have not been a user for too long, yet for some reason I am confident nextiva was a good selection for my business and feel like my phone system is making a difference for my business. Best of all (well almost) is that the service is well worth the price.

Now I Realize What a Difference the Phone Company Can Make

The Good:

andnbsp;Quality service. Particularly customer support.

The Bad:

Now that my two business partners and I have been using Nextiva on a daily basis, we all realize what a difference a phone company can make. All aspects of their service is right. We do interior design and when I look back at our service with Packet8 and compare it with Nextiva, it's a whole other world. Nextiva's add-on features actually work, it's not like we have to call them everyday to get help. Whereas with Packet8 it was a constant struggle to make the system work and talk with them. I found it interesting that they did not care that I canceled service with them. It seems like they were too large and actually don't care. The last thing I want is another Verizon style phone provider. Our company has been built on providing quality service at all times and maintaining good relationships with all of our customers. We do not take on many new accounts in order to focus on quality and when we have new customers we treat them like they are our only one. It's great to see a phone company shares a similar philosophy. The service works and the employees at Nextiva care and treat us like we are one of their only customers. We don't have a 40 digit account number with them...like Verizon gives us and they are not like Packet8 --- because they actually care and answer our questions. We used Packet8 for 4 months and just knew it was time to leave them. With Nextiva the control panel looks good and is not difficult to understand. Their support documentation in setting up is useful and I highly recommend it in order to understand their service. I also like the fact that their support can be called and they answer. I went to ASU (years ago) and they are in Tempe which is always nice. The saying business is business is important and I did not make my decision to go with Nextiva because they are in Tempe but hey, I love supporting people that are from a place I know. We do design for companies, particularly restaurants, all over the country and like how our service comes with free long distance. I don't have to worry about my business partner calling and using up our money. Calls with the service are free and sound terrific. I don't want to write an entire story on why Nextiva is the way to go when it comes to phone service for a business but it is clear that they are a winner. When I look at them and compare them with the other 2 companies we have used, Nextiva outshines them. I don't think that phone service can be hard to provide but their were times where it seemed like Packet8 struggled and my business is far too important to just hang around. I agree with this site in selecting Nextiva as the number one provider and in my book (as well as my business partners) Nextiva is the best provider. I've worked with a few of their support people, like Armando and Parris, and they both were very nice and a pleasure to speak with. For our company, I mainly handle the technology stuff. Everything from the web site design, email accounts, pr, and can say this with confidence. Nextiva was the right choice for our company and would like to thank them for making our business professional and happy. The auto attendant sounds great and I will recommend their service to any people I know.

Nextiva: efficient porting

The Good:

andnbsp;Price and the Features

The Bad:

Nextiva I found Nextiva on Voipreview a few weeks back and after receiving quotes as well as speaking with most phone companies, we chose them. We are a full service ad agency and our phones are crucial for our success. I'm sure that every business needs their phones to work at all time, but the calls sounding good are only one piece of the pie. We also expect that the features work properly as well, such as the auto attendant. I did not want to lose my number when switching to Nexitva and I was very impressed on how efficiently they handled the entire porting process. All of my numbers, including my toll free, were transferred in about two weeks. Nextiva kept me informed on the entire process and spoke with my current carrier (a pain to work with). Having the auto attendant really helps in segmenting where the calls should go and I'm sure that most phone companies offer an auto attendant and these features but Nextiva works. For about $30 per month making unlimited calls is a heck of a deal. The calls sound great and I'm using cordless phones via adapters.Eli N. - PromotingGroup

Got Away from TWC and Happy

The Good:

Price, Features, Serviceandnbsp;

The Bad:

andnbsp;Based on my comments, I have not had any below satisfactory experiences.

I've been using TimeWarner for years and got to a point where I couldn't stand paying so much for phone service while receiving below satisfactory care. The call quality with TWC was not fine but when I compare it with Nextiva apples to apples, it really is not a comparison. First is the point that I am paying much less money per month. On top of the fact that I am paying less, the features are there with Nextiva. The tools for my business phone are tremendous. Patients leave voicemails and they get emailed to my phone (my favorite and probably the most important feature) and it's helpful that the calls from my office forward to my cell when I am out. I've used most of the tools that come with their service and they all seem to work the way they should. Now above the few points I've made, one thing is impressive about Nextiva that I did not experience with TimeWarner, customer service. They actually answer their emails with helpful responses. I call one I have questions but when I can't talk I just send an email and hear back from them quickly. Nextiva deserves five stars. One reason I give them five stars is because they outdo TWC in every aspect. But even if I were to have no experience with any other phone provider, I would still give them this high rating, they simply do what they say they'll do. Nextiva delivers and I'm having a positive experience.

The Call Quality is Terrific.

andnbsp;Support and Customer Service

The Bad:

When I switched to Nextiva they transferred all of our number to their service and the process was fast. Price is not the most important thing to us (but it is very important), with nextiva I could be willing to pay more than what we are currently giving them because of their support. When it comes to phone service I'm not the best to understand all aspects. From what i've experienced with Nextiva and my communication with their support - they seem like the are interested in actually helping the customer.

My experience with Nextiva

The Good:

The price we pay, the sound quality, auto-attendand and the setup

The Bad:

We've been using them for a few months and have had no negative things.

I've been using voip at home for the past year and thought it was time to begin using voip at the office. My husband and I got information and quotes from several providers, after reviewing things and discussing what would be best for us - we chose Nextiva. The sales rep gave us great information and we setup our service quite quickly. At home the voip service has been great and the business voip service is also working out to be a great move. The sound quality is strong and we love the fact that we have a recorded auto-attendant answering every call. Considering how much we are paying and what we get in return, Nextiva is a steal. We can confidently say that our choice to go with them was the right one.

Customer Care is the Best I've Encountered in a Long Time

My business is only a few years old and had an in-house pbx before going over to nextiva. I like the hosted pbx platform as well as their prices but what has made me so happy with nextiva is their customer service. It is quite difficult to find a service company that does not outsource their support and actually cares. When I call nextiva they are nice and help me get my issues resolved. Their customer service is what is keeping me so happy and I'm very excited that I no longer have my pbx - it was a pain. Nextiva is a great provider in all aspects. I usually write about why I don't like a provider although in the case of nextiva I only have good things to say.

Very pleased with the level of customer care and overall attention

The Good:

Customer service, control panel/features, call quality

The Bad:

No negative things to say about nextiva's service.

Nextiva's level of customer care is the best. I have three lines of service with them and although I'm probably nowhere near being their largest account, customer service treats me like I'm the only client. I've spoken to a few different reps and the answers have been helpful and consistent. The control panel for my account is sweet and their call sound quality is great.

The Bad:

I've been a long time verizon customer but decided to try something new when I started my new business. Based on the quotes I received and information provided by most phone companies I decided to give Nextiva a shot. The sales representative, Levi, was very kind and they got my account setup very quickly. I'm using an 800 number as well as a local number with their service and I really like their web admin panel. I did have a few questions regarding the setup process when I first got started and support was helpful in guiding me. I've now got a hang of how the system works and I love it.

If you are looking for a high quality phone solution, go with Nextiva. They have great customer support and I'm yet to find a phone provider with a better deal.

The Good:

RELIABLE, GREAT CALL QUALITY

The Bad:

nothing i can think of

Go with Nextiva. That's all I have to say. I wouldn't even waste my time going with all these other companies that I've dealt with that are just bogus. Nextiva treats phone service for a business as its meant to be treated: A VITAL MUST HAVE SERVICE. Some of these other phone companies don't realize that you can't SURVIVE as a business unless you have phone service. That's been the biggest problem between traditional phone companies and VoIP companies, traditional phone companies KNOW you need phone service working ALL THE TIME. Now with Nextiva, I have that reliability.

Not one complaint here. Nextiva gets the job done, and is just as reliable if not MORE reliable than traditional phone service. Its way cheaper than regular phone service, and its so easy to set up. VERY recommended. Get AWAY from your old traditional phone service and go with nextiva!

Reliable service in my experience. We've been using them for a little over a year now and haven't had any real problems with them and the minor ones we've had were easily addressed by their customer service without too much of a problem. Definetely been an overall decent experience.
