OptiPoint 600 SIP - Updating firmware
OptiPoint 600 SIP - Updating firmware
The phone can be converted from HFA to SIP by updating to the SIP firmware. Maybe the way back works, too ;-)
The firmware seems to consist of three parts, that can updated more or less independently
- Application (op600sip.app) - Under some conditions the op600sip file has to be renamed to vxworks.app
- Phone device software (inca.h86)
- Platform device software / bootrom (bootrom.app)
The update the firmware, follow the following steps (from the release notes):
- With the necessary files present in the download folder, the device upgrade can be initiated either from the device, the Deployment tool or the Webserver.
- Setup an FTP server (free 3CDaemon i.e.) which matches with User and Password to the FTP client of the phone, found in: Touchscreen (Arrow up) Service – Administration – File Transfer – Downloads – Download Server Settings (With 3CD FTP server the Account Name is not mandatory.)
- Touchscreen (Arrow up) Service – Administration – File Transfer – Downloads – Download Software
Be patient, download and SW install of the phone takes time.
