PBXEQ is an online shop where customers can purchase most brands on VoIP, Asterisk hardware and equipment. This online store, where major manufacturers showcase their products, was established in 2005 only having less than a dozen suppliers. Currently, PBXEQ has doubled the number of their manufacturers and has been continuously adding new partners to cater a wider range of products for the consumer market.

PBXEQ was conceptualized because they saw the growing demand for VoIP equipment. They are also involved in major telephony and open-source events and activities; becoming a Gold sponsor for ClueCon, an Open Source Developer Conference.

PBXEQ has offices both in the US and in China. These offices serve as hubs for drop shipment. PBXEQ’s streamlined operational costs and advanced ordering system allows customers to obtain their products right on time.

POSSIBLE SCAM ALERT

by Charles on Thursday 04 of October, 2007 [01:21:56 UTC]
I tried to order from them twice, but each time my credit card was refused because their merchant account has apparently gone inactive. When you try to place an order, they take your information and credit card number and then inform you that the transaction didn't go through because of an invalid merchant ID. Who knows what they do with your personal information and credit card number after this. To me, this reeks of scam.

Further evidence: there is no way to contact them. All of my email to them has gone nowhere, neither of the two "Live Chat" links that they have on their site work. If you call their telephone number (1-877-88-PBXEQ), you get a recorded message saying that their representatives are all busy NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY YOU CALL. You can't leave a message because the voicemail box is full.

My financial information may have already been compromised, but I want to warn away others who might fall into this potential trap set by a probably-disreputable company.
