333MWI on Analog Lines

by lottcaskey, Tuesday 18 of March, 2008 [19:44:41 UTC]
A heads-up for anyone considering purchasing the SmartNode line of devices...

MWI - Message Waiting Indication is not currently supported on the SmartNode line of units. Either by LED light indication or by dial-tone stutter.

This is a feature that should be present on any SIP-Analog gateway. Patton currently has no indication of when they will be implementing it...

Otherwise, they are great devices...but had I known this before purchasing, I would have went with a different product...especially since I invested in 20+ units before realizing that MWI wasn't present.

Revised: Patton has informed me that MWI will be included on their June 1st release.

333SN4634

by UlbabraB, Wednesday 07 of February, 2007 [16:29:38 UTC]
I had to enable "early call disconnect" on a SN4634 (dual BRI and SIP) with Asterisk for inbound and outbound calls. Without this we experienced infinite phone ringing state even after the remote party hangups.
