SwyxServer is a software solution based on Microsoft's operating system Windows 2000 Server, and offers all the functions of a highend, traditional PBX. Therefore, SwyxServer is responsible for all call connection requests, call authorisation and all call switching processes. SwyxServer's PBX functions include specific rerouting of calls in the case of "busy signal" or when the called person is unavailable, group calls, music on hold and more.

Easy administration

SwyxServer works with an SQL database and all necessary settings, such as the addition of new users or the modification of user rights, are achieved through Microsoft Management Console (MMC). This provides direct access from anywhere in the IP network for all user data, regardless of whether managing with access rights or with rerouting of calls on SwyxServer. As a matter of course, these administration functions are also accessible via the Internet

Intelligent system architecture

SwyxServer comes with a system architecture providing an optimum server performance as well as a minimised network load. Intelligent media streaming allows calls to be routed directly to each user in the network and therefore eases the work carried out by SwyxServer. This brings significant advantages for the performance of the network and system hardware, as all voice traffic is not being processed through a single point within the network.

Voicemail for every user

For every user, SwyxServer offers individually definable voicemail functionality. There is much more to SwyxWare voicemail than to a traditional answering machine: Received messages are sent to any given destination via email. Additionally, the voicemail announcements can be differentiated from caller to caller. Apart from a general announcement, users can set a particular message for internal calls, key customers or personal calls.

Conferencing server

SwyxServer's integrated conference manager allows conference calls for internal and external subscribers. A conference call can be initialised individually by every user. Another possibility is to set up a “virtual conference room” with its own extension number that then can be accessed by internal or external callers. Additionally, Call Routing rules can be used to control the access of conference rooms so that they can only be accessed by authorised callers or by entering a valid PIN.

Intersite-Coupling with SwyxLink-Manager

With SwyxWare's software component SwyxLink-Manager, communication can be operated over existing IP connections between different subsidiaries or sites. Calls between the subsidiaries are free of charge. All outgoing calls are held within the IP network as long as possible before the least expensive communication path is selected.

SwyxLink-Manager also controls the bandwidth administration by configuration of voice codecs, compression methods and number of connections. When the maximum number of connections is being used or when the IP connection has failed, all calls are performed automatically as a fallback solution over the PSTN.
