Thirdlane software guide
Licenses
Thirdlane has 2 Asterisk based PBX products - Multi Tenant Thirdlane PBX for ITSPs offering hosted services and Thirdlane PBX - for on-premises systems.
The software is licensed on a MAC address level so that you can only install it on a single machine. They provide a test / trial version of the software which only works for a month and has a few limitations (it only allows 4 user extensions). So, you ask, what happen when my network card fails? The company will send you another license for your new network card. Obviously, if you have a mission critical phone system then it will be important for them to send a new license quickly - and they do.
Installation
The easiest way to install Asterisk and Thirdlane PBX Manager is to download Thirdlane Multi Tenant PBX http://www.thirdlane.com/products/thirdlane-pbx-mte or Thirdlane PBX http://www.thirdlane.com/products/thirdlane-pbx - an ISO CD that allows you to install CentOS Linux, Asterisk, Webmin and PBX Manager GUI.You can also install it manually. The software is actually a module for Webmin so you will need to have Webmin installed. You can download it from http://www.webmin.com . Then just install the software as a module in Webmin.
Initial Configuration
The software comes with some initial Asterisk configuration files. These files contain scripts required for PBX operation as well as templates for auto-provisioning of supported phones (Aastra, Cisco, Linksys, Polycom, Snom, Yealink).
