About VGCP for VoIP Anti-blocking

by jenniferhan on Monday 03 of March, 2008 [08:54:53 UTC]
Thanks for Batteryman's mention about our VGCP in his comments.

Just as his words, our VGCP don't support G723, this is the truth. But some of our customers in Dubai, Pakistan has tested our VGCP but with G729 codec, they said it's working fine. So I think the G729 also can be used in Dubai. Because the whole VGCP solution doesn't take too much bandwidth like the VPN.

Maybe it's not easy for the normal people to make the configuration for our products. But we have made the configuration steps easy than before, and it's not the questions for the technical person to make the configuration. Usually this step only need by the technical guys. Isn't it?

Also I have talked with somebody in Beyondring company, from him I know that they have the VPN service which can also solve the voip blocking issue. I have never make the testing for theirs service. But it seems that this works fine with them.

Finally, if you still want to know more about our VGCP, please contact with me at: xd.wong@speed-voip.com or by MSN at: andywong-01@hotmail.com

Thanks and regards,

Re: VPN for VoIP Blocking

by beyondring on Tuesday 05 of February, 2008 [20:29:52 UTC]
To those who would like to try VGCP solutions especially in the UAE and Regions in the Middle East where VOIP is blocked. Take heed and be warned, the solution currently does not include G723 codec which is the ideal codec in the UAE and the rest of the Middle East Region as bandwith is very poor. Configuring the VGCP gateway likewise takes time and encumbersome. Installing VGCP in your sip server will also require for you to restart your SIP server and temporary disconnects your end users currently connected to the server. Be warned. Setting up and testing VGCP is not for the faint at heart.

While we do consider the VGCP options, bypass blocking via VPN is still ideal and contrary to their claims, does not compete with bandwith requirements of SIP.

SIP ATA with VPN /PPTP builtin in settings is now available in UAE. Technical Support is dependable and excellent.

Maybe it is a good idea to split this quite big list. I mean here are some blogs and site for different countries - it would make sense in my opinion.

VPN for VoIP Blocking

by jenniferhan on Wednesday 12 of December, 2007 [05:35:51 UTC]
Somebody use VPN to solve the VoIP Blocking issue. But it seems not a good way to solve the voip blocking issue. Because VPN will take more bandwidth and will take effection on the Voice Quality

Currently I am using the VGCP, a new solution to solve the VoIP Blocking issue. Following is theirs website:

If any of you have interested, you may try to use it to solve your VoIP Blocking problems. Thanks.
