The natural evolution of PCI based telephony boards is to have Ethernet as the network interface instead of a PCI interface that requires a driver interface to work with the application – effectively making a Asterisk Blade. In this way the adapters can work with ANY SIP based application. This will greatly simplify the time to market and general appeal of internal cards in general.
