X100P and /dev/zap not found error.

Posted:Fri 07 of Apr, 2006 (21:19 UTC)
When configuring my system to use and X100P FX0 card I ran into many problems including getting a /dev/zap device not found error. Here is a fix I found on the forums that fixed it for me.

[[email protected]]# cd /usr/src/kernels/2.6.9-34.EL-i686/include/linux
[[email protected]]# mv spinlock.h spinlock.h.old
 [[email protected]]# wget http://nerdvittles.com/aah27/spinlock.h

OR if that doesn't work.....

[[email protected]]# wget http://liquid-fire.us/spinlock.h

[[email protected]]# cd /etc/udev

[[email protected]]# cp ./permissions.d/zaptel.permissions /usr/src/kernels/2.6.9-34.EL-i686/include/linux

[[email protected]]# cp ./rules.d/zaptel.rules /usr/src/kernels/2.6.9-34.EL-i686/include/linux

 [[email protected]]# cd /usr/src/zaptel

[[email protected]]# make linux26 && make install

[[email protected]]# shutdown -r now

 if zaptel drivers have been identified after a reboot:

[[email protected]]# genzaptelconf

 [[email protected]]# ztcfg

 [[email protected]]# zttool
