I have to evaluate if Asterisk could be a good SIP client on an embedded system based on Linux.
First of all, thanks to Voip-info, I have found the configuration for an Asterisk based client: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+config+sip.conf . Thanks!!!
Now, the first question: what problem could arise if I use Asterisk as a SIP client instead of a normal softphone?
And then: any other problem if I use Asterisk on an embedded Linux distribution? I'm evaluating now RAM and CPU, but what else?
If the answer is: no problems...then I could think: why Asterisk is not used as the base for all softphones??
Thanks a lot!
