Pervasip, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VoX Communications (News - Alert), a cloud-based communications provider, is now offering its mobile voice app to Facebook users
VoX officials say they help Facebook users maintain privacy by offering a virtual phone number app to those who do not want to disclose their mobile phone number. As Pervasip officials say, "Online chatters find it valuable to have a virtual number, with a separate voice mail application, so a person's primary mobile phone number remains private."
With social networks and online dating, among other examples of good places to be careful of what personal information you give out — heck, include IRL dating in that too — VoX's app for a second mobile line is intended to help people maintain some privacy and assure them that a person's primary mobile phone number does not become misused by a new acquaintance.
VoX'sChief Executive Officer, Paul Riss, said that while most people have corporate and personal email, IM names, and Twitter accounts, "people have not discovered how convenient and inexpensive it is to have multiple telephone numbers and phone lines on their mobile phone." According to Riss, consumers can add a virtual phone number from VoX "by downloading our mobile VoIP application. We believe a second or third phone line is useful to many people, especially those who have met on the Internet."
VoX phone numbers can be downloaded to hundreds of handsets and mobile devices, such as the iPhone, iPad, Windows Mobile phones, Symbian phones, and Palm and Android phones.
In September TMC's Anil Sharma wrote that Pervasip signed a letter of intent to acquire Infiniti Systems Group, an information technology services firm. Infiniti focuses on providing businesses with information security, managed services, custom software applications and IT staffing.
"Infiniti has been providing IT solutions to corporate clients since 1994 and boasts a 90% client retention rate. We are very excited about Infiniti's services and customer base and we anticipate that it’s seasoned and talented sales and IT personnel can increase our revenues and write commercial mobile applications”, said Paul Riss CEO of Pervasip, in a statement.
