I just installed a test 3CX on premise. 3CX is behind a firewall and I was required to port forward several ports, now 3CX firewall test shows green light. This made me wonder if 3CX has its own firewall to prevent bad guys from accessing the server through the ports I had to forward. IncrediblePBX has an awesome firewall and I am wondering about 3CX.

I've installed 3CX on a KVM machine with public IP, and I'm getting an error with firewall:

  • testing 3CX PhoneSystem 01 SIP Server... failed (How to resolve?)
    • stopping service... done
    • detecting SIP ALG... failed (How to resolve?)
    • testing port 5060... done
    • starting service... done
The install was a simple setup with Debian 11 and the 3CX install. I didn't do anything custom, so why would it give this error? It's a public IP - and no SIP ALG involved.

Is the installation registered on the 3CX portal? I have it running in a Rack Nerds instance without issue:
