3CX Free version ,VM badge not showing when VM is waiting

Hi everyone, happy weekend, I set up 3CX free version which is working quite nicely! BUT the 3CX app for either android or iOS does not show a badge when there is a VM waiting. I am certain that I have all the proper configurations and permissions allowed to show notification badges on the app. As a matter of fact, the app is currently showing a badge since i have "always running in the background" activiated (#1), but it will not update the badge to #2 if there ia a VM waiting, so you never know if someone has left a VM which in essence makes the entire PBX useless! I have reached out to 3CX with no help from them. It is strange though, is there is a VM and you OPEN the app, you do see a VM red badge that there is a VM waiting, just never when you close the app. Any ideas? or is it possible to use another VOIP app with 3CX?
