I saw that review. Actually that's what prompted me to post here. The "service" issue mentioned in that lowendtalk review worried me, because I would be advising a small non-profit to get this service to disseminate activity info, status reports, etc. to their couple of dozen members. Once up and running there will be nobody to speak "email-warming'ese" to interact with the provider's help desk or support people.
So if this provider won't be forthcoming with useful support or will rush to suspend the account on the first distribution list then it won't cut it for sure.
I remember seeing some discussions about mxroute's email service on this forum and they were mostly positive. So that may be another alternative, but cranemail seems to be offering more storage, which can be used both for emails and general purpose storage, in addition to being more affordable.
The investment is relatively small at $10/year so it may be worth giving a try.

Update: Although I had already read the review mentioned above before posting my reply, I had not read the comments and the exchange following the review.
I just did it a moment ago and frankly the tone, the language, the attitude from the provider's people - confrontational to say he least - is not suitable for the volunteer group that I am advising. Hopefully I'll find something else.

We bought a lifetime, unlimited 10GB plan at mxRoute for $99 many years ago. It's flawless as the LE-Talk threads will attest. Keep an eye on their blog or Reddit sub. Once in a while, they offer the specials on Low End Talk as well. Should be another special coming soon for Black Friday or before, but even their regular pricing is extremely reasonable for what you get.
