I need a little help.
I am looking for instructions about how to set up External Storage of Call Recordings.
I would like them to be stored on an FTP server or my Box Account or some other cloud accessible location.
I have not been able to find instructions when searching here or on Google.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

We do that. We use SSHFS to map to a NAS. Then on FreePBX - Settings->Advanced Settings -> Directory Layout -> Override Call Recording Location - you set your new location. We set the map to /remote_recordings and thus enter that in the override location.

I use the same process to map my calls to a second server (different IP) in the same location. Once it is mapped, it's automagic - unless the second server is offline; the calls will go through, but the recording won't (at least on my system) default to saving at the default location.

Another advantage of this is that backups of the PBX are much smaller/faster. I would imagine it would save the SD card a lot of work for people using the RPi.

Do you map the path to your NAS using the command line/SSHFS, or can that be done in the GUI under Settings > File Store?
I've got my backups going to Dropbox and that File Store is a pretty nice add-on.

command line:
sudo sshfs -o allow_other,default_permissions,ServerAliveInterval=5,ServerAliveCountMax=3 asterisk@"$NAS":/Recordings/"$srv" /remote_recordings -p $NASPORT

I have my mapping done in fstab:

\\192.168.40.28\PhoneRecordings /mnt/PhoneCalls cifs user,uid=asterisk,rw,suid,gid=asterisk,username=THEUSER,password=THEPASSWORD 0 0

PhoneRecordings is a samba share name on the target machine. I also have a command in my rc.local file "mount -a" after a sleep command to 'ensure' that the samba machine is running. By ensure, it's always supposed to be up, but if I reboot everything, the PBX may come back to life before the other server.

I'm using a samba share for three reasons:
1. I can
2. it worked (with help from here)
3. the share is visible to my other machines locally if I want to grab a recording.
