I have tried to install phpmyadmin on the latest 2020 install (centos 7) following the instructions found on a site directed to by Ward
it will not install saying it needs php 7.1 and only version 5.something is installed...if you try to updated php to 7.whatever it breaks the whole system...
What to do all I want is phpMyAdmin to use locally not remotely...
UPDATE:
Looking at the phpMyAdmin site it appears that the highest version of phpMyAdmin that could be installed with the current version of PHP is 4.9.7
running this command
yum list --showduplicates phpMyAdmin\*
yields:
Available Packages
phpMyAdmin.noarch 4.4.15.10-4.el7 epel
phpMyAdmin.noarch 5.0.3-1.el7.remi remi
phpMyAdmin.noarch 5.0.4-1.el7.remi remi
Looking at the failed install output I summarized the install command to be:
yum -y install phpMyAdmin-4.4.15.10-4.el7.noarch
follow the rest of the other instruction on the site shown...
seems to work...default root password is passw0rd <--thats a zero in w0rd
It's an old unsupported version and reports to upgrade to 4.9.7 but that is another kettle of fish (anyone care to add)
Hope what I'm doing is right....the more I learn the dumber I feel...
