I have an old and untouched PIAF version 2.0.6.4 that has been in place and essentially untouched for many years. I need both the hardware and software updated to current versions and need some guidance on my best upgrade path.

The company requires on-premise dedicated hardware so virtualized is out for now. I'll probably just purchase a NUC or similar PC.

FreePBX 2.11.0.43
Asterisk 11.4
CentOS 6.4
Incredible 11.4

I'm perfectly fine building out the latest on new hardware but will my config carry over directly or do I need to upgrade the current system to a particular level first? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

You won't be able to do an upgrade per se. Use bulk extensions to to do the extensions then rebuild your IVR, ring groups etc manually. The NUC is usually fine though sometimes I prefer something a little more robust if expensive like a 1u server (supermicro is fine, maybe eavesdropped on though who knows) or a desktop with a fan.

As stated, not any real upgrade path. Basic config would need to be cut and paste with bulk extension import to minimize the keying like @atsak.

How many users? For on-sight, don't discount the Pi4. Two Pi4's with all the trimmings at about $160 total in hardware make a nice warm-spare redundant setup.
