Install and Use a Music on Hold Uploader

The Music on Hold Uploader, or simply called Charozt, is one of 8layer Technologies, Inc.‘s open source applications.

Charozt is a Linux-based application that can be installed in Linux desktops to convert .MP3 to .WAV specifically for Asterisk supported MOH.

Apart from its utility of converting .MP3, the real essence of Charozt is its capability to easily upload these converted music files to the Asterisk Server and use them for Asterisk’s Music On Hold feature.

The development for project Charozt can be tracked at Charozt SF site. Charozt v0.8 was initially released on 11 February 2009. The Charozt tool can also be downloaded from the project site.
