The Linksys WRT54GL is the Linux version of the Linksys WRT54G. The WRT54G started out life using Linux but in November 2005 Linksys switched from Linux to VxWorks to lower their cost of production. Because there are so many people that still want the Linux version, Linksys created the Linksys WRT54GL which is like the original Linux version of the WRT54G.
