The magicJack PLUS is an upgrade to the magicJack. The original magicJack brought to us by VocalTec, is a device that allows you to connect your home phone to your computer to be able to make unlimited calls for and works via a VoIP network. The magicJack plus is similar to the magicJack however it has the added benefit that a computer is not needed in order to use the device, rather it can simply be connected via an Ethernet connection. The magicJack Plus has only a minor price increase over the original magic Jack’s price. Besides running independent of a computer the magicJack plus also comes with HD Voice and Echo Control which have dramatically increased the sound quality that you get while making calls.
