UPDATE June 2, 2009 – Main web page (www.nufone.net) now goes to a generic go-daddy advertisement. Looks like they couldn’t even keep up their $5/month web page. There is no question that this “company” is gone, nor is there any question that their entire history is that of non-support and customer rip offs.

UPDATE APR 30 2009 – Nufone servers are no longer responding. Nufone appears to be done.

UPDATE APR 05 2009 – Nufone just closed the ticket that their toll free DIDs are down, this is despite the fact that their own support number still isn’t working. Also got a low balance warning from them because they debited my account $7.99 each for two toll free DIDs which I gave up over a month ago (aren’t listed in my account now), but since their DIDs aren’t working anyway they charged me for a service they couldn’t deliver. I smell a death spiral…

UPDATE FEB 24 2009 – 877-420-8647 (nufone support number) is down. All DID’s appear to be down. I’ve made multiple support tickets, sent e-mails and tried multiple times to reach these people. No response. Argh.

UPDATE FEB 11 2009 – AVOID AT ALL COSTS. NUFONE INBOUND TOLL FREES STILL DOWN ALONG WITH THEIR MAIN CUSTOMER SERVICE PHONE NUMBER — GOING ON ONE MONTH NOW. FURTHER, NUFONE SUPPORT NOT CO-OPERATING TO FACILITATE PORTING OF PHONE NUMBERS TO OTHER CARRIERS.

DON’T BELIEVE IT? JUST TRY CALLING THEIR CUSTOMER SUPPORT TOLL FREE BEFORE SETTING UP AN ACCOUNT. UNLESS YOU LIKE THE SOUND OF DEAD AIR DON’T GIVE NUFONE YOUR MONEY.

UPDATE JAN 26 2009 – NUFONE MAY BE DONE. THERE’S STILL NO INBOUND TOLL FREES AND NUFONE CUSTOMER SUPPORT VIA CUSTOMER WEB PORTAL IS NON-RESPONSIVE. NUFONE CUSTOMER SUPPORT TOLL FREE 877-420-8647 STILL DOWN SINCE JAN 13 2009.

UPDATE JAN 19 2009 – NOTE THAT NUFONE INBOUND IS DOWN BUT OUTBOUND APPEARS OKAY. INBOUND TOLL FREES ARE FAILING SINCE THEIR JAN 13 2009 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT AND NUFONE MAIN CUSTOMER SUPPORT TOLL FREE 877-420-8647 ALSO DOWN SINCE ABOUT THAT TIME.
