Uk School Campus.

We have recently finished a Asterisk deployment on a School campus in the UK.

System Spec.

Single Dell 1850 server (UPS Backup)
Digium E1 T110 card
20 Aastra 480i Handsets
40 Aastra 9133i Handsets
1 Mitel 5220 and Conference unit
1 HT 486 for Bacs/epos
Flash Ops panel for Operator.
Powerdsine Midspan POE injectors

The spec was to replace an Ageing Panasonic PBX with a flexable solution.

Asterisk has fitted the bill with little or no disruption to users and callers.

The Dialplan is heavily modified for the UK market having 4 standard barring level as well as custom levels where required. Users also can have an account number and pin to allow access from phones in public areas which are normaly barred.
Fax has been intergrated for users who require it and can then be faxed on their DDI which is "caught" and passed to spandsp with the fax being emailed to the user on completion. Users can also use "*1" call recording with the recording being passed to their own webspace.

Other features include

Day / Night / break service. Allowing the main numbers to ring in different destinations depending on time of day or as defined from web or phone interface.
Call forwarding
system speed calls (configured from phone or web interface)
Personal speedcalls
Call recording
Paging groups
Auto campon to busy numbers
As well as all the usual * features

Connections between building are a mixture of fibre, Laser and wifi links and have all been stable with no drop in quality depending in what link the call is over.
