Setting up a fax on a 2020 (non-raspi) using the Big 30 guide : http://nerdvittles.com/?p=32014#app12

With the latest release of Incredible PBX 2020, fax recognition is supported on incoming calls. Edit each of your Inbound Routes and enable Detect Faxes with Detection Type=SIP, Fax Ring=Yes, Fax Detection Time=4, and Fax Destination=Custom Destination:Fax (HylaFax) in the Fax tab.

I ran incrediblefax2020.sh , rebooted. But I see no fax tab in the inbound routes. What am I missing??

EDIT:

Tooling around I found in Admin > module admin. The fax configuration setting was disabled. I enabled and got this.

Ok. I got the tab

After enabling the fax configuration above then updating modules per http://nerdvittles.com/?p=31488

Keeping FreePBX 15 Modules Current
We strongly recommend that you periodically update all of your FreePBX modules to eliminate bugs and to reduce security vulnerabilities. From the Linux CLI, log into your server as root and issue the following commands:

fwconsole ma upgradeall
fwconsole reload
/root/sig-fix

Yes, faxing in configs are a bit different all the way around. For example, if you are doing a DID direct to a fax extension to a users's email - it used to be under Extension-> Fax section. Now the extension must be setup in with a User Manager section (previously the user didn't have to have this), and then under User Details, the Email Address will be where the destination for those emails is set. I think its more complicated than in the old format, but change is ... not always easy.

Thanks for the tip. I got it setup right away after reading that.
Yeah, it's kinda silly to have to setup a separate user for the extension.

BTW, off-topic, what's the logic behind a user limited to one extension?

Sorry - I don't understand the question. Example? If you mean user management ... they can have access to multiple extensions, but I think the original intent is to set it up for them to use the UCP via this means.

You got it, that's what I was talking about. In the user manager a user is only allowed on extension.1591916634269.png

It seemed to me it would make more sense, from an administrative point of view, to group all of the extensions a person has together. I suppose since pjSIP allows multiple endpoints/contacts users are not typically assigned multiple extensions.

The last time I fully configured my PBX for my small biz, about 6-7 years ago, each user had and extension for each device and it got kinda messy. Finally settling on a system of 3 digits for a user's ring group, the extension is the 3 digit ring group number plus a number for the individual extension. I'll probably use pjsip contacts this time.
