SOLVED Clearly Anywhere for Incredible PBX 2020 PUBLIC

Still working Great!
Just would like the Favorites to use the pictures in the mobile phones contact list in stead of having to save new pictures.

Also what are those tones I here some times when a call is hung up like low freq beeps anyone here that?
 
Trying to provision my account on a new phone, getting an error....

I've tried via wifi (thinking PiHole may be interfering) and LTE, no dice.

EDIT: I've also tried entering the UCP credentials manually and get the same error.
 
@tbrummell Another pioneer gets bit in the ass. I'm assuming you've implemented the public.conf setup for Apache. Here's the short-term fix. This problem only arises during provisioning, not actual use. So, if this is a small deployment, it might be easiest to remove /etc/pbx/httpdconf/public.conf and restart Apache while provisioning the phones. But you have to get the softphones installed obviously.

At the moment, your FQDN must point to /var/www/html on port 80 which means UCP access has to be on another port. We've chosen 8080. You also have to enable localhost access on port 80. We'd obviously like to reserve port 80 for UCP so you could hide the port for general /var/www/html access. @Tonyclewis & Co. are aware of the problem so we'll see if this can be fixed.

If you've already tried to activate Clearly Anywhere on the smartphone, YOU MUST UNINSTALL IT & REINSTALL THE APP.

Then deploy the reworked setup in /etc/pbx/httpdconf/public.conf documented here. Don't forget to also whitelist port 8080 for UCP access.
 
I do not have the public.conf setup as was brought up in the other thread. I decided against doing it as my wife & I are the only users, so I didn't want to go down that route. So no public.conf file on my system.
Asside from making those specific changes as the TUT now documents, what else is causing my grief?
 
Well, no go for me. I decided to deploy the public.conf as described, but still couldn't access the UI via the Internet. I've un-done all of the changes and put it back the way it was.
 
@tbrummell Did you uninstall the app and reinstall before attempting to reprovision? Is your server set up with the PUBLIC config?
 
Yes, removed & re-installed the app multiple times while trying this. And yes, I have a 2020public server.
 
Well, this is an interesting turn of events. I decided to install Groundwire since I own it, and it needs no UCP/httpd access to provision, and something caught my eye in the logs. Acrobits & Clearly Anywhere use the same push server...

Clearly Anywhere and Groundwire (and Sangoma Connect) use the Acrobits softphone SDK thus the similarities.

Indeed that is an IP from the general SIPIS server pool (https://faq.acrobits.net/ip-sipis).

I thought you never got Anywhere provisioned. If not then how are you making this comparison?

Damn. Clearly Anywhere is on my list for this week and I was hoping for something better.

I suppose both, like Groundwire, are missing connected line support for outbound cnam? Would like something for Apple that works as well as GS Wave on Android.

Can you translate that?? I'm not sure I understand what you're wanting that isn't provided.

We use outbound cnam for all calls. On virtually any deskphone and GS Wave, the call history will show the proper cnam info ("John Doe/2125551212" vs only "2125551212"). It's also incorporated into the speed dial code, so instead of "00020" history will show "Acme Inc/8005553434."

It makes call history much friendlier and more useful.

Acrobits has hooks to download central contacts, which could help, but is a fair amount of work for a single client. I would hope Clearly Anywhere has similar functionality. Still, not all that helpful when dealing with random numbers not in central directories. I suppose recent cnam info could be included with the contacts, but again more work that shouldn't be necessary when the outbound-cnam module can be so easily dropped in.

Yes it does. Code is effectively the same as the outbound-cnam module generates.

Acrobits does not properly update the CNAM in-call display or history. Does Clearly Anywhere?.

Have you tried adjusting the settings of this field, Outgoing Remote Contact, in account Advanced Settings?

No.

Android doesn't have that setting (Groundwire 5.4.2). No iPhones in the house, but I will test Monday at the office.
