SOLVED Clearly Anywhere for Incredible PBX 2020 PUBLIC

It sounds like your firewall or iptables is blocking the incoming PJSIP registration.

Or that when the app is closed/background it's not getting the keepalive OPTIONS or any other incoming requests. That's likely more of what's happening then a REGISTER being sent every probably 5-60 minutes being blocked. It's also the most common issues with a lot of softphones, hence the use of a push server.

I meant the incoming registration from Clearly Anywhere IP, not the phone app. Took me a little while to figure out how it works, plus some help from tech support.

Ahh from the push server, well as it was pointed out outbound calls work fine and incoming requests are fine as long as the app is open. So that rules out the IP being blocked by the firewall.

Right, when the app is open it's registered to the PBX extension. When the app isn't open, then the CA server should handle the incoming call and push the notification to the phone. Still sounds like the CA server isn't able to register to the PBX extension.

Yes that is what I entered.. the error I get on the app after it tries : External provisioning error
I'm getting the same error. I've used IncrediblePBX and FreePBX for awhile but I still struggle with it from time to time. Especially with remote extensions, so I'm hopeful this will work. When I stop the iptables process, the app connects and the API Connection Status shows good, but when I initiate the iptables again, the API Connection shows Contact Support in red.

Whew, what a battle! But, I think I have won.

Problem: The extension I was using was Chan_SIP, pretty sure PJSIP (+ more than 1 Contact) is a requirement.

Solution1: Convert extension from Chan_SIP to PJSIP using button in UI. (PJSIP was already listening UDP 5062)
Result1: Extension would never register.

Solution2: Delete extension and recreate as PJSIP
Result2: Extension now registers on wifi, will not register on mobile data.

Solution3: Enable PJSIP on tcp 5062 and modify iptables accordingly
Result3: Now working 100% (including my lock screen issue mentioned previously). Works on mobile data, wifi, and when screen is locked/sleeping. Strange, I know. I have not re-enabled face, fingerprint or PIN unlock. Still just a simple swipe up to open the phone.

I think the tutorial needs to mention PJSIP as a requirement, or if it does, I missed it. And no, I didn't read *any* of Clearly's documentation, maybe it's mentioned there.

Do I dare now move on to TLS? LoL

Yes that is correct we recommend and require if you are going to use push server for inbound calls for your primary extension to be setup with PJSIP. This is in our documentation at https://kb.clearlyip.com/FreePBX/Configuring-Clearly-Anywhere-Module.html

If you have chan_sip and converted to PJSIP that would of worked if you just went into the App and opened accounts tab and pressed save which would of caused the app to reprovision to your PBX which would of gotten the info of the new port since you moved it from chan_sip to PJSIP the port changed and the app needed to be updated.

It's been reported previously that using the FPBX UI to convert Chan_SIP to PJSIP doesn't (always) work. And when I say it wouldn't register, I tried multiple clients from multiple IP ranges, wasn't relying on just Clearly Anywhere.
In the end though, I did win! The issues we're nothing to do with Clearly Anywhere.

in the in the setup that I received from clearly IP looks like there's a bunch of IP addresses that need to be allowed through to the PBX. I'll try to explore that today and see if I can get that working it wasn't part of the setup that Ward detailed out on his page
If you are a 2020 PUBLIC server, and referencing your server via FQDN, SIP is allowed from anywhere.

If you are not PUBLIC, then yes, you have extra work to do. And I believe the TUT says to start with a PUBLIC 2020 setup (I'd have to go back and read it).

EDIT from the TUT:
First, you will need to deploy the PUBLIC version of Incredible PBX 2020.

you're right I don't have the public version.

I got it going after seeing the webinar Thanks for posting it. It works Great!!!

Is there any way to change the Call Progress Tones? My ringing tone is playing UK (long solid tone for those not familiar). Groundwire did this too upon initial setup, but allowed me to change it. I can't find something similar in CA (despite the UI being 99% identical).

5 little characters. LoL Yeah, my PJSIP is on 5062 as I'm running ChanSIP TLS on 5061.

If not already mentioned, Contacts need to be increased to a minimum of 2. (default was 1 on my system)

If the extension tied to User Manager is PJSIP when you enable Clearly Anywhere we already bump the max contacts by 2 automatically for you.

Ahhh, that's why. I had to delete & re-create my extension, when I enabled the user again the extension was not associated, I did it after.
