Hey now. Following the 2020 setup here: http://nerdvittles.com/?p=31488
when you get to the part to "turn" the server public
Code:
cd /root
wget http://incrediblepbx.com/go-public-2020.tar.gz
tar zxvf go-public-2020.tar.gz
rm -f go-public-2020.tar.gz
./GO-PUBLIC-2020
the script asks for the phone extensions to enable for public.

My question is, if I go back and add another extension tomorrow or 6 mos from now, do I have to do anything "special" like was done here to make the extension work public? If so, how do I do that please?

thx.

You would manually edit the /etc/asterisk/extensions_override_freepbx.conf file and add the new extensions in the same section (near the bottom of that file.) They are located in the section that says Additional extensions to be added go below here.

Obviously, you'd first add the extensions to the pbx before you add them to the above file.

But make sure you are clear on what you need.

The extensions_override.conf changes are only needed if you want that extension to receive sip uri calls - someone not registered to your pbx making calls to [email protected].

If all you need is registration of a remote phone or soft phone, no extensions_override.conf changes are needed. Registrations should just work.

Thanks. I was puzzled when I opened that file and found no extensions listed at all.
Made me question how 3 extensions were already registering correctly so I re-checked the new created extension and found a pebcak.
After straightening that out everything works as expected.

thx all.
