I came across a multi-tenant pbx called PortSIP. Has anyone tried this system? The UI menus, dialog boxes, etc. look similar in some ways to that of 3CX. I've installed it on a test server and it works quite well, however I think they are based out of China.

Ya, I'm staying away from anything from China where possible. Obviously need a laptop, and TV's and so on can't really be avoided, but anywhere possible am doing so right now especially telecom. The arrests of Canadians on absurd spying charges as a revenge for arresting their citizen on behalf of the US did it for me. That's it for my political rant of the day done, I know we don't usually do those here but it's just kinda gone too far.

They mention they've got an open sourced softphone (Win, IOS, and Android) that if I read right has messaging and what'sapp in it. That would be interesting to dissect.

Not open source. They have an SDK which you have to license.

The Chinese have not been much into sharing code.
