Dear everyone,

I bought a PAP2 unit and I discovered it's a locked one.

I'm needing admin password (not blank)

Any way I can get the admin/password credentials ? The reason I am asking is that the following thread talks about such a spossibility: https://www.voip-info.org/linksys-pap2-unlocking-methods/

Did you try to do the factory reset by using the built-in IVR by the method detailed in that link you posted?

(I have had luck myself each time I have done it)

The default passwords for "user" and "admin" is blank.

I bought a PAP2 unit and I discovered it's a locked one.

If you bought a PAP2 that is locked to a specific provider, you may be out of luck. The 'reset default password' procedure is only for unlocked units, if I recall.

Do you know the exact model that you bought? if it was a PAP2-NA then this is an unlocked version, and should* respond to the reset password drill. Anything else is a hit-and-miss endeavor.

Sorry, IVR=Interactive Voice Response.

It is the menu system that you used/accessed to reset the device by entering **** on the keypad/phone that you attached to the line 1 port on the Linksys.

Did you read the caveat on that page?

v3.1.7 box or higher. These boxes CANNOT be unlocked

I would suggest a Yeastar ATA. They litteraly have Asterisk running on them so you can SSH in and see what is going on under the hood. They are also quite inexpensive.
