Hey all,
So with the recent surging in spam calls I'm also getting a spike in 1 and 2 second voicemails (which are emailed to me and kept in the Inbox). These are useless ofc and it's a bit of a time suck to go in UCP and mark out all the 1 sec vm and delete, not to mention deleting the emails too.

Is it possible to automate this deleting of short VMs? Bonus points if can prevent them before the VM email is sent out.

Thanks for any ideas.

There's a setting somewhere not to record voicemails under X number of seconds at all. Track that one down.

Seriously? Never encountered that before.

"Ms. Google.. Ms. Google! can I have a moment?"

It's under voicemail admin / settings / minsecs (this is on an older system but I suspect it's still there somewhere)

DUDE! Thanks so much. Ms. G was being a bit dense and not turning this up right away for me. Thank you for looking it up!

I set it to 3 seconds. Hopefully that's gonna be that!

Oh and btw, for the next person -

On ipbx 2021 it's

Settings -> Voicemail Admin -> Settings tab -> Limits sub-tab -> Min Message Length

I learned a new one today - good info. Get rid of those 1 second calls. I like the 3 seconds.

Just be aware 3 seconds is the "call me back" message not getting through if it's a home based one. So possible you might miss something there.

Thanks I'll keep in mind. The setting was already (by default?) set to 1 sec and I DO get 1 second long VMs so I kinda assumed it would act as a less than (ie. was "less than" 1 secs now "less than" 3 secs)

By the same token if all you can say on vm is "call me back" and not even a name or a "hey now!", call again. Pffft.

Also, I think most ppl revert to text for those "call me" msgs these days.
Thx again.
