Define decent. The 3CX one did the trick for us when we needed one. Acrobits and Zoiper are well regarded as well.

I understand you can also use Clearly Anywhere which requires a licence as well as the built-in Clearly Anywhere Module - See Admin -> Module Admin Clearly Anywhere.

Full disclosure I have not used it - Clearly don't (or didn't do UK ). Supposed to be good but I cannot recommend.

Oh. It used to be free / free. We had an older version hooked up to an Issabel install no issue.

Linphone (linphone.org) is a free desktop app. It works very well but doesn't "look" like a phone as much as some other software does.

Bria Desktop has more of a phone-like appearance and works well though I personally do not like the interface.

Zoiper 5 is great. Works on almost all platforms.

Ward just remember the free version is for Non Commercial Use meaning a business can not use it. Only a consumer can. https://www.zoiper.com/en/voip-softphone/download/current

Define decent or try MicroSIP, Blink, Phoner, tSIP, Jitsi desktop.

Years ago 3CX had a pretty nice softphone (the one with iPhone-like skin). Current version is Electron crapware infected with North Korean trojan (https://www.cvedetails.com/cve/CVE-2023-29059/).

Thanks for posting that. I haven't seen it for years. It is a very good softphone that can be used independent of 3CX.

Yeah, I still have someone that does some work for me that uses that softphone till this day. ... The Electron softphone that 3CX has is pretty though. I'd LOVE to see something like that that was OSS so that it could be built upon and trojans could be vetted out.
