Picked up this little tidbit from the FusionPBX Forum:

First of all I think their idea of using SRV records sucks especially if you set registration expire to 25 seconds like they recommend. You get bounced all over the place and calls drop. I just use the IP method

In regards to what? That sounds like a poor implementation of SRV. The only way for that to happen is if multiple records have the same priority and weight because it could result in any one of them responding to the SRV request.

I use SRV for all my SIP domains and with a proper priority and weight, everything works as it should. Things don't end up at random systems because of a proper SRV record.
