SOLVED Upgrade iPBX 15 to Incredible PBX 2026

Remember, FAX is not a thing anymore. If you need fax, stick with your old system.

With that in mind, spin up a new Debian-13 instance and install IncrediblePBX-2026 on it. Instructions here: You can install on a local PBX running Debian-13, a VM on a PC running Debian-13, or a cloud instance running Debian-13. Cautionary Notes:

1. There is no upgrade path from the old to this new one on the same PBX. This will be a new box or VM that you load Debian-13 on.
2. Do not attempt to use an Incrediblebackup and restore it to the new system.
3. Linux level changes such as firewall additions made after initial install will have to be replicated on the new installation.
4. FAX IS NOT INCLUDED ON THIS RELEASE.
5. Chan_sip is not longer on this system. It is all PJSIP.

Procedure after installing IncrediblePBX-2026 on a new instance:

1. Update your modules on the old box to current versions.
2. Run a FreePBX backup on your old system.
3. Copy the backup you just made to your PC desktop
4. On the new system, upload and run the backup from the old system. FreePBX does a reasonable job taking the old backup and converting it but their Backup/Restore is still buggy. Check results after restoring the backup.
5. Stare and compare between the systems.

wow ken thank you. how have you been? Hopefully we'll. totally forgot about the fax so I better keep my current version, still have bunch of tax clients that like the fax! thanks again, you are the best!

thankyou Ward!! great to hear from you and Kenn10........always here to help me. I think i will try your suggestion for the FAX. I have been using your IPBX 15.0.38 for my office for years and have added all your goodies to the platform over the years including FAX which works great! ! I need a new project and think I will on Crown Cloud install IPBX 2026.
