I have been using voip.ms for inbound calls, but recently people have been complaining of calls not being the best quality.

Who is a very good provider?

Thanks

Since some time now i got really big problem with VOIP.MS. they call sound really garbled and i randomly got 1 way audio on SIP and IAX2 trunk. On each and every of my clients right now! So no this is not bandwith related Is there any good canadian provider?

Exactly the same thing here, except in the US. I have three customers who are complaining that I pushed them to SIP service

I am another Voip.ms victim (well, back when I tested them). Great features, horrible everything else, unfortunately. Check out Flowroute.com.

callwithus.com is pretty good with Canada and other international destinations. Biggest problem though, is that their billing increments are per minute (unless you use over 10,000 minutes per month). For Canada at half a penny per minute, that's fine but for USA calling you probably don't want this.
I personally wouldn't use their inbound service for USA numbers because they resell didx.net. The problem I personally have with didx.net is that I don't know who the provider is. Yeah I know it has ratings, but I'd still prefer to know who it is sitting with. That's just me.

I use voip.ms at home (low volume) with no problems at all. My calls sound great. I'm connected to the LA switch.

No complaints here for the last few months. Connected to the Toronto switch.

great service here have to machine's connected to there Toronto server. using IAX2

Sounds to me like voip.ms is/was having problems with some peering points. Certain ISPs will use certain routes to get traffic in/out of a location. I would venture to guess that everyone having a problem with voip.ms was routing through the same tier-1 provider into voip.ms.

This may or may not be voip.ms's problem to fix.

I'm having choppy audio on DIDs with them today, too.

No problems with my callwithus DID.

I don't pretend to know what the current issue is but I do know that the network testing and monitoring technology exists for voip.ms to detect these issues before we do. This may not be the case with voip.ms but many of these companies seem to be operating on a relative shoestring and don't seem to have much leverage with the larger providers they rely on to connect other legs of their calls. As a former HP'er I know that these network routes can be proactively monitored and tested 24/7 looking for issues end to end. The technology is not perfect but its very telling when we have to report these things.

I don't see any service issue notifications on their website and I'm surprised they aren't monitoring this site and picking up on this issue.... I have just sent them an email with this link.

UPDATE: VOIP.MS HAS OPENED A TICKET ON THIS #890654

I use voip.ms (premium routing) for my business and we log about 4 hours of calls a day, and I haven't had a single dropped call since I started using them last October (LA server with NY failover).

I have just sent on one of my opn ticket this thread to VOIP.MS customer support, each and every time i tell them i got dropped call or really poor quality call they always says i'm the only one who have those kind of problem!! They will see i'm not the only one! But the Main problem i can see from here, on my side i connect to the Montreal. Here is a ping plotter log .
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4184861/montreal.voip.ms.pp2

Look at node 6-7, they give me packet loss often and very high jitter! And just to let you know that today was a good day!!!! Sometimes it is freaking bad, i have see that SIP seems to be less problematic on VOIP.MS But i have just lost a 10 000$ system i have installed and need to take it back just because of that issue i am working on since 1-2 months and they tell me everything is ok and don't do any testing. But here in Sherbrooke, there is not much provider that have reseller plan. I don;t think VOIP.MS is the main problem but their bandwith provider, so this is their problem in some ways, i can't call VTL or IWEB to make them repair their network!!! the other SIP provider i got here voicemeup.com, are using IWEB as a hosting service, so i got the same issue on there service!!!!! IT is really bad here!

Might I suggest instead of attaching an application's file like that, instead take a screenshot and put up the jpg?

Not all of us run Windows, or prefer to install applications just to see what you're trying to share. Try and help us help you :)

Yeah - that clearly shows your problem is not voip.ms, but vtl.net.

As I said, one of the carriers between you...

You should open a ticket with your ISP, as they have the most weight with their upstream provider. Voip.ms doesn't have any control over how that traffic gets to their site, until the final hop normally.

Ditto - except for Atlanta, GA switch. And if I do have any problems, it's because someone in the house is doing some serious internet movement (Almost always upload kills it - ex. uploading pictures to the internet or playing an online game on the PS3/Wii) which kills my 512k upload. I hate Time Warner...
