Hi all, just a quick warning about DIDWW. While generally their service is good, they recently disconnected one of my numbers in Australia. This number was paid for in advance until September 8th. Another number of mine in NZ failed renewal (one of my credit card numbers was compromised and had to be renewed) and that's when I think they may have disconnected it.

They did not notify me they would be disconnecting my paid for number. They just did it when the card was declined on the other one. They did notify me the NZ number was scheduled for disconnection which was fine (I no longer required that).

I consider this rather unacceptable. I have been a client of theirs for years now. While I appreciate the need to limit fraud, a simple email describing that they were intending to disconnect my service if I did not contact them would have been sufficient, and frankly in no case would it be appropriate to disconnect my service which was pre-paid for a year nearly a year ago.

Buyer beware. Good service from a technical perspective but really poor back office. I'll notify them I posted here so they can put their side of the story up if they want to.

We used to use DIDWW and we are large enoght that they set an account specialist for us. Still there were issues and problems just like you described along with other problems that they just could not fix. I actually had a chance to meet the guys who run that company and they are nice people but they ended up loosing our business.
BTW same thing with voip.ms

We now get our International DID's and toll free numbers from Tier 1's and it takes longer to add a number but at least they work right.

I push 15 - 20,000 minutes a month to voip.ms and it's always been fine, though certainly they have a few minutes of outage every couple months which shouldn't be that hard to avoid.

Inbound is reliable as well (I would hear about it if not, there's more than 100 users now on this system, I hear immediately when something goes wrong).

Perhaps they've improved since you used them. I haven't found anyone better at a similar price (yet).

I've had all kinds of problems with outgoing calls to the 417 area code, for some time now (intermittent problems). And now, they won't even answer my trouble ticket that I put in 4 days ago, so it looks like their customer service has just 'dissappeared'.

It's so strange how you can have such varied experiences with a single provider.

FYI I checked my call logs from last month, I only had three calls to that area code, all of which completed (and lasted 3 or 4 minutes each). So that's not helpful to your info.

What's the problem? Don't complete or quality?

Yep, you're definitely correct about being strange.

My calls either don't go through at all, with no 'sound' at all, or I get a 'tone', instead of a ring, or the call goes through but the audio is broken up really bad. I've had this same kind of problem with both Vitelity and voip.ms. On the other hand, my DID is through Vitelity, and other than problems with either their underlying carrier, or AT&T, a couple of times, the inbound service from Vitelity has been good. I haven't tried inbound with voip.ms or any other provider, except for 'experiments' with other DID numbers that aren't my 'regular' numbers.
