TIPS Obivoice is now Vestalink

Still getting "the extension you are calling is unavailable" (at obivoice).

I also checked the "connected devices" at obivoice, and it shows there is nothing connected. If set up correctly, something should show up in 'connected devices' right?

I also notice the freepbx truck only has outbound definition. Shouldn't it have inbound as well?

Thanks.

thejackal: In FreePBX, goto Reports -> Asterisk Info and look under SIP Registry. You should see an entry like the following with your account number/username instead of 1234. What does it say?? DON'T REVEAL YOUR ACCT NUMBER, BUT... Does it show registered??

Working now!

ward: thanks so much for pointing at the right direction. I had a typo in the registration string. Silly. Working great now! Thanks everyone!

If you have been demoing the system and didn't catch the lower prices, I would suggest that you contact their support team. I emailed them and was able to get still the lower price. Of course YMMV, but it is worth a shot!

I signed up today and asked for the old price. I was given a discount code to use at checkout which gave a $15.00 off the 2 year unlimited plan from $74.95 to 59.95. The cool thing about this is the discount code is NERDVITTLES :)

Does ObiVoice offer any kind of fail over option? I didn't see it listed in the "features" on their site, so figured I would ask.

It's one of the features Voip.ms offers that has come in handy more times than I like to think about.

Anyone else having trouble completing outbound calls on Obi the last couple days? I'm showing registered in PIAF, and the Obi site itself shows that I'm connected; I can receiving incoming calls, but everything outbound (212-, 800-, 402-, 303-, etc.) yesterday and today is failing due to congestion.

Update 1/29/14: Miraculously began to work again. Kindly disregard.

Check their feedback forum link at the bottom of the user pages... they have started work on that feature.

Well, that was quick...

obivoice added Failover Forward as an option on the Account Settings page today.

I was getting support online from Ryan, the owner of obivoice, the other day and mentioned that the nerdvittles code was out here on PiaF. He was ok with it being out in the world, but mentioned that it was set for only 50 instances of $15 off the 2yr unlimited byod plan.

Thanks for the update!

If you comment on, or create, one of the threads in the obivoice feedback forum, you will get an email announcement when obivoice updates the thread. So far, there have been two updates that interested me... the one about failover forwarding and one about downloadable call detail reports, both of which are now working.

Hey quick Question in the account settings on the Obivoice Web Portal what settings should I have for Ring Time & Enable Call Waiting since we are using our own device was not sure were to set these things. I did set enable voice mail to OFF since I want PIAF to handle VM's

I have mine set to voice mail set to ON at 60 seconds - my PIAF is set to 40 seconds. That's just in case...

As for Enable Call Waiting, you want that set to "ON" if you want to hear the call waiting tone if you are already on a call.

Also, set your Call Forward Number and select the Forward Strategy of "Failover Forward"; if for some reason the system has issues, your call will be forwarded to what ever number you provide.

With regard to callerid spoofing does anyone know if you can spoof more than one number?
I currently use voip.ms and I change the outbound callerid based on the extension that is calling out.
Home phone number for one extension, GV number for my nortel 1535 and fax number for the fax machine.

thanks!
Rob.

From what I have discovered, after DID verification, it's only one DID at a time, no multiples - controlled from the Web page.

robf: Might be worth requesting. They seem to be pretty responsive. As long as all the numbers were verified, I wouldn't think it would be a problem legally.

I've added it as a suggestion so we'll see.

My Google Voice number just finished being ported over today. Modify my registration and inbound route from test number to my GV number. Processed a call both ways. From the time I looked at my account to ensure it was ported to processing my first call, 5 mins. Love the fact the provide Caller ID.

allow multiple callerid spoof numbers

Unfortunately no, voip.ms is a common carrier. They bill by the minute for all of their outbound calls. Obivoice is for non-commercial use only, and In order to keep users from reselling our unlimited residential plans or using the plans for business we limit all accounts to one spoof per account at a time.
