Hi all,

Just purchased a new 57i to replace a Polycom501 and so far I love the potential of this phone.

However I'm having registration problems.
Using the web configuration of the phone, I am trying to have line 1 be for one extension and 2 & 3 for two other extensions. Basically my extension on 1 and Sales on 2 and Home on 3.

So I'm setting the configuration for each extension like so:

Screen Name Office
Screen Name 2 [Blank]
Phone Number 111
Caller ID [Blank]
Authentication Name 111
Password *********
BLA Number [Blank]
Line Mode Generic

Basically the same for the other extensions but with their authentication.

Incoming calls ring on the proper extension, but outgoing calls just give a busy signal even for internal extensions.

When I call out nothing is showing on the system console (asterisk -rvvv).

Any ideas what I missed?

As always, thanks for any help!

If I'm understanding your question properly, you have to select the line you want it to use in order to dial on that box. I'm not sure if you're using multiple boxes - but I do a similar thing with my 57i. One line reg'ed at home, and others with other Asterisk boxes. If I want to call a 'home' extension, I have to press line 3 (which is reg'ed with my home box) - otherwise the call will fail, as my main work box has no clue what extension I'm trying to dial.

If nothing is showing up in the asterisk CLI, then maybe the "Local Dialplan" on the phone is not understanding what you want?? Might have to edit it a bit.

I emptied the "Local Dialplan" field, saved and rebooted the phone. Still no joy. It just gives a busy signal when I try and dial out. And nothing registers in the asterisk console.

OK, figured it out!

I just needed to fill in the proxy server field. Never had to do that with other phones I've used so it never occurred to me.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Now if I can get the "Dial" button to work.
