Using PiaF 1.6, I did:

update-scripts16
update-fixes16
passwd-master16

/etc/asterisk/manager.conf did not have the admin password updated. It remained at amp111 while /etc/amportal.conf was updated. Resulted in FreePBX not being able to communicate with Asterisk. Shows error: Asterisk as not running.

Fix is to manually edit /etc/asterisk/manager.conf with new password.

the program was never designed to update manager.conf. Is this a feature that is needed?

passwd-master updates /etc/amportal.conf and if it updates /etc/amportal.conf then it needs to update manager.conf. The two admin accounts must match otherwise FreePBX can't talk to Asterisk. When that happens, you can't do too much with FreePBX except look at the red error icons and greyed out menus.

I believe that it did update both in earlier versions of passwd-master and passwd-master16 as I've used them without a problem for the past year and didn't run into this. This was verified on two separate machines this morning. Really had me puzzled for a while.

Interesting the code for the past year or so has not changed except for the addition of the forced ARI password update. I have looked back on most of the versions under SVN and can't really find where it ever updated it. I will add this to the list for the new combined scripts.
